Pretty sure I saw the new command vehicle parked outside station 10 Sunday afternoon. Sorry no picture but it looked like a brand new truck all white with chrome.

The new CFD Command Vehicle (which is being built by SVI Trucks) will not be ready or even in the city for a few more months... But there is a "in production" picture of it on SVI Truck's FaceBook page.

I thought I heard something recently, looking at my PSR-600 logs there was traffic as recently as Oct 16th. I haven't had that scanlist enabled the last week or so. I'll keep an ear on it tonight.

There are 3 ways for the stations to get the Locution, (voice), alerts. The primary method is a direct to station data transmission that is not broadcast at all - which is why for the most part we never hear anything.

The next method is a backup and it broadcasts the voice on the new talkgroup.

The last method is a backup to the backup and it is the old simplex channels.

Select stations from Rockyview County (stations 101 in Elbow Valley, 102 in Springbank, and 107 in Balzac) as well as station 151 in Cochrane get their voice alert over the old 400 MHz voice alert frequencies. That's the majority of what you're going to hear on those frequencies these days.

Was over getting some pictures at the maintenance facility on Sunday afternoon including the ex station 8 aerial and noticed pasted to its windshield is a sign stating "NOT FOR SALE" any reason why the city isn't selling it?

Cheers,
John

Also got some great shots of the trailer fire here in the northeast yesterday. Responding apparatus E12, 22, 32, 4, 46 A12, 18 R4, HR23, HM? E chief and battalion chief

First alarm was E22, E4, R4, A12

Second alarm called en route was E12, E46, A18, HR23

HM4 was then called in due to the uncertainty of the trailer contents.

E32 was called in as an additional Engine during the event by incident command.

My guess would be is that the truck is still considered a spare Aerial (even though its not being used). CFD only has 3 spare Aerials not including this one. ((E5208 - 75' Pierce) , (E5408 - 105' Pierce) , (E5308 - 105' Smeal))
