I don't believe so. Was it a rearmount tower ladder or just a straight stick rearmount? CFD currently has 5 spare aerials... all of which are rearmount, straight stick Quints

Found out Aerial 23 is broken so they have a spare 4 wheel Engine/Quint truck.

Confirmed Station 4 hazmat is shop# HM0217, new 2017 model. Wanted to get pictures but had to bail during the hail today.

Making good progress of getting pictures of new Apparatus and hope to update my gallery soon. Hope you're all well and enjoying the summer!!

Cheers, JR

At least one of those platform quints is/was a lease if I recall correctly, so it may have gone back to the lessor.

Unrelated - I know engine E2498 is still hanging around because we will be borrowing it at Redwood for a few weeks while our engine undergoes service.

Does anyone know what became of the platform aerial in the link below.
https://jrphotogallery.smugmug.com/...re-Department/Active-Fire-Apparatus/i-tJgFKrq

I was just checking the CFD wikia page and noticed it is not listed anywhere.

Nice to hear from you!

Your link brought me to Aerial 11 - 2004 Spartan/Smeal 100' rear-mount. It's still in service at Station 11. Though it has had maintenance issues like all other trucks in the fleet and when in the shop, it has been in there for a few days to few weeks.

That beautiful beast is starting to age though. It's pushing 13 years in front line service and the road salt from the winters I hear is destroying the under body of all makes and models of everything on the road.. So I don't know how long this truck is going to last

I think after the 5 New Rescues and 19 Engines get here next year, CFD will start looking at replacing the 3 tower ladders in the city

Is that the100' Platform last listed as shop# E5504. This unit had the platform that rested above the cab. I last saw it listed as Aerial 16 prior to the move to 11 station so maybe it is still in service?? I believe they've been a spare for quite awhile though and this unit is no long listed on the CFD wikia page. Can't wait to see all the new Apparatus in the next 12 months. Does anyone else find Calgary has a high turn over of trucks? Does it have to do with the large area the city covers?

Regards,
JR

I have seen Aerial 11 using there 100' Platform rear-mount a couple weeks ago.

All of the Quints were re-numbered so E5504 went to Q1204 (Truck you're looking for JR). The 3 used Quints that CFD acquired are numbered Q09 - Q10 - Q11 and the newer Smeal Quints are Q01-Q08

I find CFD has a good turn over rate, expect for the Aerials.. CFD seems to have always taken a long time in replacing/adding Aerials to the fleet

Also (of course this is money related) CFD likes to/has too maximize they're resources. Which is why Rescues and Aerials seem a bit thinned out on the ground

Looked on google maps, at 16 Station, seen that old lime green pumper...however i didn't know they had a high cab like all the newer trucks do, i thought it was always a flat cab, unless im seeing a different one, but if you look at that picture and at the top of the fence you see the cab.

The one in front (center of pic, behind the BigTex trailer's gooseneck) is the last Hendrickson which was at the gates of Training forever - I didn't know it had been moved. The one behind it looks like the old Popemobile, a high-roof Superior E-One which if I remember my timelines right was a 1994 truck which spent a lot of time at #29.

Being that these are both "the last" of something, I wouldn't be surprised if they are being held for the Firefighters' Museum Society.

They are both still at the training center lined up with the 1998 series of pumpers. I was by the new headquarters on the weekend and noticed the museum is open again Tuesday-Friday like 9-3 and the last Saturday of the Month. It was closed when I went by but hope to check it out soon. Not sure what became of all the Apparatus they had outside all those years other than the two we've mentioned.

Here is Aerial 11 (Q1204) operating at the 2nd alarm fire at Rideau Park School this evening. Sorry for the poor shot.. It was the only good point to take a picture in that alley.
Also attached is Engine 1 with the Canada 150 decal

Anyone know if the 96 Hazmat is still running as a spare? I know the fire wikia says so, but with the 05 hazmats now put to spares, it's kinda weird.
