I don't think CFD will ever do away with the HazMat companies but anything could happen. DC4 did tell me that not all rescues will be replaced but most. Though if only the tech rescues are left than rescues might be dropped from fire alarm responses and fill that spot with a ladder or tower company instead.
The Tech's will still be in service, I can see CFD keeping all of the 2018's and retro-fitting them into maybe tech rescue support trucks, (new) airlight or highrise units and of course spare apparatus. With the cost and extra time it takes to get a new truck right now, might as well keep what we have and retro fit them in my opinion

Engine 130 is still Beiseker station I believe

Some updates;
Station 8's going under renovations now, therefore a few rigs needed to be moved around.

Ladder 8 & Bush Buggy 8 are now in 29 Station, Bush Buggy's in the back bay tucked behind the Engine, Ladder's in the right bay [if you're facing the station]

Rescue 8's moved to Station 33, unknown which bay it sits in but yeah.

Station 8's getting a tent set for Engine 8 afaik as this is a few month project.

Station 8: Engine 8
Station 29: Engine 29, Ladder 29, Bush Buggy 29
Station 33: Engine 33, Rescue 33.

Also worth noting I'm fairly certain 19 has their Pierce Tower Ladder now.

Going back to the old days when R8 used to be R34 and L8 and BB8 were L29 and BB29 for a while.

Another firefighter recruitment class has either finished or should be finishing very soon which will add another 30-40 ff's to the ranks (another 10 or so per platoon depending on the class size) That means we should start to see some extra staffing on Ladders and another MRU in service soon.. perhaps

Another MRU is going to 12 this month so that's something to keep an eye out for. Finally the Ladders can be staffed with more than 2 guys. Maybe even the Rescues can be staffed a bit more.

Are the Bush Buggies always associated with Ladder crews?

Is the Dive Rescue the same? Cross staffed rig?

You would think that the department would want to keep Ladders in service, and cross staff them with an Engine, 4 crew, water supply…

Always. Every single Bush Buggy cross staffs with the Ladder or Tower at their respective halls. Sometimes the Engine at the hall also gets attached.

6AQR is cross staffed with 6E. 6BT is cross staffed with 6L from Oct to May I believe. From May to Sept it is staffed full time.

21BT is cross staffed with 21T and 30BT is cross staffed with 30L. Only 6BT is staffed full-time during the summer. The others are cross staffed year round.

Ok, I got it. So the Water Rescues are cross staffed. So the entire 6E crew is trained in scuba operations?

Stations 6, 21 and 30 are water rescue trained stations. So everyone on those Engines can do water rescue too - unless someone is filling in for the day.
Unless it’s a “red flag” kind of day (high winds, low humidity and super hot out) all bush buggies are cross staffed. It’s not uncommon to have 3-5 Ladders out of service because they’re on a grass fire call with 3-5 bush buggies. On those “red flag” days extra fire fighters on shift will staff the bush buggies or other ff’s will come in on overtime

Engine 45 has been operating out of a temporary structure since May 10. Their new station appears to be 50+% completed.

A little late to the party, but the info is appreciated, nonetheless 😂

19 still has their 2004 Quint.

Attached is a photo of Ladder 8’s rear, I took this photo at this evenings working fire in 33’s run.

In the last year or maybe more I have not seen any Ladder unit pumping water at a fire scene, they’ve only been supplied by an Engine - like Ladder 8 here, being supplied through there “inlet waterways” valve and what looks like a horseshoe high flow hose now in the bed? (the red hose)
Ladder operating procedures have obviously changed in the last year or more, does anyone have details?

*Edit - I should be more specific, the inlet valve that is being supplied, that I mentioned goes straight to the stick and only the stick (Aerial waterway), that's what I mean by being supplied by an Engine

I’ve been meaning to stop by a station and get more details on the new Bush Buggies Pumps, I guess I’ll ask for more info on Ladders, too 😅

Evening Gents. Just a little update on a topic that has very little information surrounding it. The new tenders.

First off: the manufacturer of CFD's new tenders will be..drumroll please... Pierce MFG! The new tenders will be on custom chassis unlike the commercial ones 21 and 25 have. So in other words CFD will be getting pumper tankers.

Second: CFD has ordered not 2 but 4 brand new tenders from Pierce. It's pretty obvious the first 2 will replace the aging Tender 21 and Tender 25 but it is unknown where the other 2 will go. Maybe somewhere down south like 33 where tender responses are gonna be a long haul or places in the East District where it will be a drive for 21 to get there such as 32, 27 or maybe even...22.

That's all the info I have on the tenders right now. Time will tell where they will go.

✌️

Also the new Ladder 1 will be set to go into service September. It has been delayed from some reason sadly.

About time! if they're top mount enclosed tenders (highly doubtful) then will probably see CFD move to Pierce top mount enclosed Engines in the future. Any time line on when these Tenders will be delivered? Probably not for 6-8 months from now lol

Unfortunately no time line for when these things will arrive but it will probably be a while most likely 8 months like you said but maybe even longer than that.
