TG 1802 is NW CT Public SafetySeen TG1802 a few times now. Seems like a local PD perhaps for a town, or FD perhaps.
UID 1844221, 2039002, 2039003, 2039006. At least one was a mobile.
Oh neat, yeah that can fits with the discussion I heard. It seemed like a 3rd party directing EMS and Fire near an incident of some sort, unsure what. I've seen 1801 activity but not enough to figure out what's being talked about. Another Safety group? Also have these been submitted to the database yet?TG 1802 is NW CT Public Safety
Allowing every talkgroup at every site can be a real waste of channel resources. It's good practice to restrict talkgroup usage to certain sites where applicable. There is no reason for the UCONN Stamford Campus PD to come up on the Troop D Simulcast in Windham County, for example. Same applies to local bus route talkgroups and the like.I don't get the point of building a statewide system and then blocking talk groups from utilizing the infrastructure in parts of the state. Isn't the whole point of the system to allow subscriber units to be able to go anywhere within the system and communicate seamlessly?
I think it’s much more likely that there isn’t a subscriber unit on the Troop L site that is affiliated with a CT Transit talkgroup.Oh neat, yeah that can fits with the discussion I heard. Another note, lots of CSP Training traffic today on Site-L/31. Usually don't see them pop up there. Encrypted of course.. It's one of the few TDMA TG's that's allowed on Site31/L since they deny most of the CT-Transit groups.
That would be incorrect, They are restricted from affiliating to some sites just for the reason explained above.I think it’s much more likely that there isn’t a subscriber unit on the Troop L site that is affiliated with a CT Transit talkgroup.
They haven't implemented that for every talkgroup though. You can hear Groton, Stonington, and Norwich on the Troop I site when someone affiliates to them. That would be incorrect, They are restricted from affiliating to some sites just for the reason explained above.
It would be a waste, The Fairfield county USAI TGs are not going to show up on the troop C system, No reason and it will use up talk paths that Troop C might need, Just like you can hear Troop H on the A system but not on the I system, If you watch UniTrunker for a while you will see troop H cars trying to affiliate on Troop I system and being denied. It can all change with a quick programming of the system and could change when the system is finished being built out
You asked about CT Transit..Other groups are aloud to roam for different reasons. Sometimes a TG will be set up system wide or out a little further on the system to see performance and if other sites are needed for coverage other than its home site, maybe the Stonington PD chief lives in the Troop I system area and requested to listen when coming in and going home. They haven't implemented that for every talkgroup though. 65xxx TG's are dynamic talk groups. They can change daily or hourly. I've gotten Wallingford PD on about 10 different 65,xxx TG's in the last month or so.And I've been hearing 65412.
It's Wallingford on CLMRN.
Wonder why since they are supposed to have their own system:

Earlier today, A Town of Wallingford ambulatory unit was en route to Hartford Hospital with a patient, which would put the unit out of range of their own trunking system at some point in the travel. So, this all makes sense.65xxx TG's are dynamic talk groups. They can change daily or hourly. I've gotten Wallingford PD on about 10 different 65,xxx TG's in the last month or so.
They linked Wallingford's P25 site to some CLMRN sites. When one of their units (Police, Fire, Whatever) roams outside of Wallingford's coverage, they set it up to roam to CLMRN but instead of getting their native TG numbers, (Ex Police 1 TG 101) it gets assigned a random TG number in the 65,000 range by CLMRN that it talks to the CLMRN system on. This is also used say if Wallingford's system went down, they can failover to CLMRN I believe. Not 100% on the specifics but its what I picked up in passing and interpreted.
As far as I know, the only system that have linked in is Wallingford going by DSDPlus neighbor/Peer info.
However many other systems can be patched in this way, Waterbury's P25, Middletown's new P25, etc... should they make arrangements.
These are different than TG40-49 they use for testing purposes for towns and such testing CLMRN in their area before a final cutover.
