I have to say I'm very curious about several of the new Torrington PD portables in the 5069-5075 range. Seems they are affiliated on a daily basis, today I'm noticing 5074 in particular affiliating over and over again. Still no audio on any of these....

1435074 is still affiliating every 10 seconds or so and is filling up my event log. Interesting and aggravating at the same time :p

A radio that is using VHF would not be seen registering and affiliating on the 7/800 trunk system. There are some radios that are showing up as External indicating they are not system radios. However, I see 93 radios affiliated to the TPD Dispatch TG with only a few of those being out of town radios.

If anything, a radio on the vhf would show the console ID over trunking

So yesterday the behavior moved from 5074 to 5073, affiliations every 10 seconds with the TPD talkgroup. Weird.

5184001 and 5184002 checked into LCD talkgroups today. Any idea on who 518xxxx radios might be assigned to? Ordinarily I'd chalk it up to garbage or a dial spin but the 4001 and 4002 suffixes seem deliberate and I did have some radio traffic (nothing I could discern)

Here are the couple of clips that might(?) be an identifier but then again, I can only guess at what they're saying....

this is kind of interesting. Has anybody else heard this on the statewide system talk group 5651 with a space in between and then 3011 was coming up as one of the weather channels with the radio ID 1981???

I do not believe NDP has CLMRN radios but are using the LCD Hi Band and as such are patched.
The Amenia radios are for their rope rescue team and are on the CLMRN system. They were actually going to a call in Mass so NY units responding with CT units for a call in MA. Once Massachusetts CoMIRS completes their overhaul, I would not be surprised to see Berkshire County FDs expand onto it and share the access to CT and those NY units with the capabilities to do so.
I first logged them several months ago during a similar call and some radio testing in August

That was a patch from NOAA WX using one of the ERV TGs.

I did not know that Amenia or any Dutchess agencies that respond to Litchfeild would have access to this system. Pretty neat.
Im impatiently waiting for dutchess to finish rolling out their own P25 network, which will be great for interop with the regional rope teams. Hopefully the overseeing agencies play nice together, and all of the end users can benefit.

I don't know for sure but would be pretty confident that they were testing with a NOAA patch.

Me either, I thought this was pretty cool as well. Although I do recall hearing LCD dispatching "Northern Dutchess Medics" from time to time

I think that NDP actuly responds as the primary ALS to a Northwestern Litchfield Town, if I recall, North Canaan. Although I may be wrong. Also, recently, Empress EMS (NY) acquired NDP. I heard they are keeping everything the same after the acquisition that happened in October. They are still referred to as NDP here in Dutchess.

A lot of Dutchess County FD & EMS departments respond regularly to Lithefeild for all types of calls, and I think, at this point, most, if not all, departments that neighbor Litchfield (especially Millerton) have LCD (VHF-Hi) programmed to their radios. I hope the same will happen with CLMRN when Dutchess builds out their P25 Trunked system, but I may be wrong.

So far, Dutchess has some FCC licences popping up, and I heard that next Summer they might have some CCs on the air, but don't quote me on that because, well, we all know what happens with these systems and the hurdles that may delay them. Also, Dutchess P25 will be 700 MHz, so that will be great for Interop to CLMRN as well.

I hope and assume that Dutchess County and CT will play nice with each other and grant each other access to their systems so the interop is seamless, but I'm not so sure Dutchess will be willing to do that. For a few reasons, but primarily because in NY, some mid- to lower-Hudson Valley counties that have recently built out their respective P25 systems don't play nice here. For one, Westchester regularly responds to both Rockland and Putnam counties; they don't have interoperability, and each has its own P25 system. Also, Banksville in the town of North Castle (NY) has an FD Station that is considered Grenwitch (CT) Station 7, and Westchester and Grenwitch have no Interop. Just a few examples, I could go on and on, but Im not saying Ductchess P25 and CLMRN P25 will be the same (Only time will tell). I'm just saying that the governing agencies of these systems might not see it the same way or cooperate. I would be prepared for anything to happen.

I Digress......Im sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, but this is all just speculation on my part, as it is too early to tell what will really happen, but I am also eagerly waiting for the Duchess P25 System too lol.
