What's in the boxed-in area under the desk? I didn't notice it in the photos you posted here, but in the construction photo on your web site, I can see that the boxed-in area isn't there.

What are the rough dimensions of the desk? It looks like the counter depth on the right wing is deeper than on the left wing. What prompted you to make them different?

I noticed the flashlight on the floor next to the computer in one of the shots. We've all been there, haven't we? You go diving onto the floor to change a connection on the computer and find that you can't see anything because it's dark down there. Makes me think an installation like this would benefit from some under-desk lighting...maybe one of those rope lights under the desk that you can turn on when you are reconfiguring the cables down there.

One final comment...The GeoChron is a nice touch. You don't see many in home shacks, but they sure do show you where the gray line is at a glance.

I second the previous "pardon my drooling" comment. "Nice shack!" would be an understatement!

looks incredible. but what do you need all the stuff for? like what do you do for a living? just curious.

Hello,

Sure some beautiful shacks that were posted. Been a ham operator for 45 years, and into scanning just as long. I thought Id post a picture of my new shack I set up in 2007. I am 56 yrs old and work cw or high speed Morse code 100% , but I always have several scanners running.

Seems self-explanitory to me. What does his job have to do with his hobby? It's not work-related.

To the OP: nice setup

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude certainly has a good job, no doubt there. I'd say he easily has 40 thousand dollars worth just on that desk. Not including the tower, and stacked yagi's or feedline etc. I certainly like the lay out.

Magnificent! Just magnificent!

Nice to see an Icom IC-7800 in a shack environment such as that.

I can only dream of having such a setup, let alone having the time to make best use of it.
The antenna system you have would keep me happy for a long time.

A shack such as that is worthy of an all time great nomination!

Regards, Commscanaus.
