Not as far as I know, just those 3 TG were encryption, all other Tg were in the clear, the pro 106 did a killer job with a vehcle mounted BMAX-1000 on my jeep

Hmm - not hearing anything

I did an import of the Dare public safety system data from the database into Win500 and programmed my PSR500. So far after a few hours listening today in Nag's Head I have heard exactly nothing. However the signal strength is consistently maxed out. Is the system very active? Should it be set as "P25 Auto" or "P25 Manual"? Should the freq list show anything other than the control channel (859.9875)?

(On the other hand, the VIPER system has had a fair amount of activity.)

P25 auto, worked for me

Nothing received so far this morning but signal strength is a full 5 bars. Trunking tables default, multisite mode off. If I look at the list of trunking tables, it is all zeroes. But I'm guessing that's all probably correct.

Presumably shift change should be happening shortly, so we'll see if any traffic shows up.

Now that I think of it.... Try putting the other frequencies in the list

OK, I've just entered them. We'll see if that helps. Clearly something isn't configured properly, since the signal strength is quite high.

Thanks

Hmm... the signal strength is popping from max to zero as it scans, and there is no "T" displayed. I just had a quick burst of reception during which the T flickered, but something is clearly still not right unless P25 systems look differently on the display from Moto 800/900. On those, I get at least some signal strength all the time during the scan, and the T stays displayed. I'm going to poke around in Win500 to see if there are other settings I may have missed.

Well, I'm about to give up. I reimported the system. With just the control channel listed in Win500, I see high signal strength but the "T" on the display flickers on and off. I'm guessing maybe that corresponds to data. I've seen it stop on a couple of TGs for a couple of seconds, but no audio other than fragments that a heard twice on DCSO Disp. It's acting like it's out of range, but with the signal display so high that's hard to believe. (I'm on the beach in Nag's Head.)

This is the first time I've tried to monitor a P25 system. I must be missing something.

When I was down there a few weeks ago I could easily receive the system in Kill Devil Hills near 3rd street, but if I went towards Nags Head I got zero, nothing, from KDH north no problems, but Nags Head on south or west, nothing....

Wow, I can't imagine a system with coverage that spotty, especially with the terrain as flat as it is around here. And as I say, the control channel is showing very decent signal strength.

I tried reimporting it again, but this time changed some options - turned off "CC Only" for one. Now it shows all of the frequencies, and when I do "analyze" it shows both the WACN and N numbers (it just had the WACN before). I have seen it pause on Beach Law a couple of times, and once there was a brief burst of audio.

If I had to make a wild guess, I would say that the control channel is the only one with enough signal strength to be received.

Wow.... I don't have any of the trouble you guys are having.... The only thing I notice is when I go mobile, I get the same "artifact" that the system users are getting....

Not using a PSR500 though. I was hoping you were and could share the file.
