Yes. I bumped the level way down. I may go a tad lower. It sounds good on portable but I have to see how it sounds on the pagers.
My RSSI on my SDS200 is now at ~ -110dBm on the automated dispatches. I've lost the dispatches on my TRX-2 unless I zero out the squelch, but that is my weak link and uses a different antenna.

Looking at Google Maps, the Lima site is 7.12 miles directly West of me, so still not bad and better than I would have expected. It still sounds good.

I'm going to reconfigure my display to show Digital Error Count, as well.

So far, so good...

Yes. New tones. I'm still loading them up but they will be half second A and half second B. Re worked all of the tone frequencies in to a coding plan because some were way too close to one another to work on P25.
Will this allow room for more tones on the system? Thinking along the lines of Chester County where there's ALS tones, BLS tones, Fire tones, and officer tones

Have any other sites been turned on yet or just the Lima so far? I can get a CC decode on my Unication G5 at my house in NJ 30 miles away from Lima. Last night I was hearing all the automated dispatches. Maybe tomorrow I'll hook it up to the amplifier charger and hook that up to the yagi antenna and see what happens.

If you're hearing it that far, I might hear it from Central Montgomery County...

No changes made to the RF, only to the audio level. I was very surprised you were seeing -50. I'm around -122 outside in Penn Pines. -110 is probably right for where you are at. Are you just using the antenna attached to the scanner or something outside?

SDS200 with outside Pulse Larsen mag mount NMO 150/450/758 Antenna using wall air conditioner for a ground plane. Right now, this is the best combination that I have.

I also have a Compactenna SCAN-III connected to my TRX-2, two Tram 8079(s) connected to a Whistler TRX-1 & a WS-1080 on adjacent exterior walls and a Bingfu "cheap-something" that works great on 800 MHz connected to a GRE PSR-800.

This week, I might juggle radios & antennas to see if it's the SDS200 or the Larsen, or the combination of the two.

I also have a bag or two of various SMA, BNC, etc. handheld antennas.

If you want to borrow anything to tinker with, just PM me.

Once 5300 Baltimore comes online you probably won't even need an antenna anymore.

Every fire & EMS dispatch there's automated dispatch on the trunked system and (human) voice dispatch shortly after (46.48 CSQ and 508.2375 PL 203.5) I'm assuming the latter two will discontinue at some point when testing on the new system is finished & users make the migration?

What are the fire tone frequencies??
See above for radio frequencies. If you're looking for pager tone outs let us know who particularly you're looking for

Tones are different in most cases from the legacy. They aren't all done yet. I'm still finalizing the coding plan. For instance, right now all the calls are using the fire tones for the stations that the ems units are assigned to. I'm going through and adding the actual ems tones as we speak.

I've been watching the display on my SDS200 a little more closely. It appears that the dispatches are ~ -110dBm, but the -50dBm seem to be some sort of <1 second data bursts? that appear all the time and can occur during the dispatches, but don't affect the voice.

This is above my pay grade, but you'll know what I'm seeing.

All I know, is that it's really working great in Secane and it's not even close to me yet!

I am in Westtown near Rustin HS and my BCD536HP with an outdoor discone is receiving a full signal and no distortion.

When the EMS tones are complete could they be posted. Not to sure how they work and program

That's a pretty common thing to see on the SDS scanner, especially with other neighboring strong signals possibly around. Who knows? It could be Chester County or Gloucester County or NJICS from Camden with a voice channel nearby and that will drive up the RSSI value without interfering with the voice. Then it depends on what filter you are using. There are so many valuables with a wide band scanner with RSSI values, I really wouldn't put much stock in it. A better indicator for you would be the Error Rate.
