Periodically, my large power utility company has low flying helicopters saturate areas generating calls to the police with concern. Usually results in a news report that they are inspecting wires, power lines, overgrowth of trees and other obstructions.Interesting. When these started popping up in my area they were for the electric providers smart meters.
With what appears to be cameras further down the pole I could see how they could be for them.
All good and well, except I was referring to the antenna on the pole picture.Periodically, my large power utility company has low flying helicopters saturate areas generating calls to the police with concern. I guess this could be done by drones but I don't know if they would have the flexibility and maneuverability to cover wide areas and wouldn't provide actual human eyes to observe and inspect.
Nevertheless it is only a daytime activity.. reading smart meters probably would be a better job for drones and probably doesn't require daytime only operation, I guess it could be done at any time.
Interesting hypothesis. No reason for local news not to alert to public of exactly what's going on and not to be concerned. It wouldn't be a secret and State Police and local authorities would of course be notified and would have no problem making public announcements of such. It's not Secret Squirrel stuff like this.
In my area the local news is still focusing on this story.
I see that now.All good and well, except I was referring to the antenna on the pole picture.
They could fly in a drone to inspect the drone that was crashed. However, that could cause a drone to fly over watching the drone inspcting the drone. Once that happened, you would have a drone swarm and could make the evening news.New Jersey State OEM (Office of Emergency Management) coordinators have advised every New Jersey municipality the following:
"If a crashed drone is encountered, Your police, OEM, EMS, and Fire department personnel are to approach in hazmat suits only, and notify the bomb squad"
one has crashed in Hillsborough and under active investigation (unable to confirm at the moment).
I'll offer my opinion on the drones that are near or over US military installations. I doubt they pose any threat, have any instrumentation or cameras that can get any useful information or weapons, and that would be a huge risk to the operators if one was downed and we found that kind of technology. I believe the drones flown over or near US military installations are off the shelf models flown by "someone" to test how we respond to them. Its a test of our awareness and response capabilities for these installations and I think we are failing the test.
That's correct according to media reportsPossible drone landing in New Jersey under investigation, as Staten Island lawmakers demand answers

The reported sighting in Hillsborough with crash was unfounded. Units have cleared. It's actually a coworker of a friend supplying this info. Supposedly this was next to the Lowe's on 206. PIX 11 has a small crew here, but I see nothing else. Thought I saw a county hazmat truck pass me just before I arrived so guess it's possible they just wrapped up.
Or that episode of Twilight Zone. This is becoming more like the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still" or maybe it could be "The War of the Worlds"
I'm scared!
