This sort of raises a flag for me. When I originally posted this link in another thread they had 5 available now they have more than 10 and 16 sold. Hope I am wrong but something does not seem right with that.
I've been an eBay seller for many years. This should not raise a flag for a seller with a excellent feedback score and tens of thousands of transactions.

eBay purchases are very secure, they keep their sellers in check when necessary.

I agree but a few weeks ago a few ppl got screwed on buying a hp2 from a reputable seller with excellent feedback and thousands of transactions also. Just saying sometimes stuff goes bad.

It can take awhile with eBay, they give each party quite a bit of time to resolve issues. If it was just a few weeks ago it may not be settled yet. If eBay doesn't give satisfaction they can file with PayPal and get another round of mediation. PayPal is tougher than eBay, but fair.

Uniden is not happy about the coupon and made me raise price to $749.99, so you will still get it at $649.99 with the coupon. They are very strict on the price on this and it is outlined in the legal agreement authorized dealers have signed with Uniden. Sorry for the inconvenience guys.

The part about "authorized dealers" seems a bit confusing in light of this statement:

There is actually no such thing as an authorized dealer. We have no process to "authorize" a dealer (or to revoke a dealer's authorization).

I've never seen such blatantly open Price Fixing, are Uniden sellers allowed to accept cash back credit cards or is that being added to the FIXED price as well?

No wonder they don't want it on Amazon, Uniden wouldn't be able to bully them.

It should read:-

"the ILLEGAL agreement authorized dealers have signed"

I'm tending to agree. I have reconsidered purchasing one of these scanners now due to this. (i.e. no plans to)

Unethical, at best, and borderline illegal I do believe...I haven't researched it and I may be wrong but it is certainly questionable.

Proceed with caution.

Disappointed to say the least. But if that's the reputation they want...

Oh please give me a break. And please tell me how the agreement authorized dealers signed is illegal. Are you a dealer in the know or are you just assuming? My guess is assuming that is what happened you are just butthurt because you were having a problem with a previous model.Which turned out to not be a issue except in your mind.

O-Well, that leaves a SDS100 for someone else that has no problems with it. Only people that have a problem with the way it is are those who were on the fence or didn't plan to get the SDS100 and were just looking for that justification not to purchase.

I have nothing against the SDS100 - it looks to be a stellar scanner and Uniden has hit it out of the park with this.

Their business practices, however, are questionable. Some research on the FTC site has yielded some interesting information.

I'm not saying it is illegal but certainly questionable.

MAP prices are not price fixing. Under Armour, Nike, Apple, etc. all have MAP pricing.

A lot of stores have coupons, sales, etc but have certain brands excluded.

eBay can be held at fault here too. It should allow sellers an option to have certain items/brands excluded from their coupons.

Trust me, it is a battle every day with just about every brand I carry.

Sorry to hear about this, especially since eBay's coupon has nothing to do with your store or pricing policy.

Good thing I was following this thread.

Kinda sucks about the coupon. I assume Uniden would still get their money, it's not the dealer/sellers fault that eBay offered a site wide coupon.

Still planning on getting one eventually.

Yeah, the more I think about it I don't really think Uniden can dictate that...he had it listed at the MAP - eBay is offering a coupon off of that which isn't the fault of the seller.

Very disappointed in Uniden's practices the last few weeks...wow.

I agree with all of these comments and feel badly for webtron-x. He was selling the SDS100 for the allowed MAP of $649.99 and it is certainly out of his control that eBay decided to offer a 20% off coupon (up to $100 off) for Father's Day and for only a short 12-hour period (7:00 AM PDT to 7:00 PM PDT). He now has been forced to put his advertised price at $749.99 (at least while the coupon is valid) which puts him at a distinct disadvantage to other sellers especially if some potential buyer is not aware of the eBay coupon.

Kudos to webtron-x for coming here on RR as a new member and letting us all know what happened "behind the curtain." I have been very impressed with the VERY QUICK handling of my eBay purchase earlier today and will certainly look to webtron-x for any future similar purchases.

Maybe I'm wrong but I equate it to this:

I receive in the mail a coupon from Mall Q for "20% off any one item at any store in Mall Q".

I walk in to Store X located in Mall Q with this coupon.

I go find Item Y in the store and go up to the register.

They scan it and the price comes up as $100 (as was listed on the store shelf) and then I hand them the Mall Q coupon.

The cashier then says "oh I'm sorry...I have to add $20 to the item if you want to use this coupon."

You'd just say 'ok' and proceed?

It seems that is what happened here, yes?

trp2525 hit the nail on the head.

Nice. Ebay gives a coupon and you raise the price. Another vendor I will NEVER deal with.

NONSENSE. His price was the agreed MSRP.
The coupon was from EBAY. NOT FROM HIM
he did not discount the price.

I was just getting ready to order my 2nd SDS100 from you on Ebay until the price changed to $749.... Well that not going to happen now! but good luck with it.

Did you not read the thread? Uniden forced the seller (webtron-x) to raise his price. He had no choice. Had you been a bit quicker, you could have scored one before the price went up.
