Evansville/Vanderburgh County Rebanding Started

Sources indicate that rebanding of the Evansville/Vanderburgh County EDACS system has started.

Plans are to reduce the current frequency pool to LCN's 1-6 on both towers until the project is complete.

Airport PD are the first to be "rebanded" as the project continues toward a September 2008 completion.

Database has been updated accordingly.

The contrct was signed months ago. September is the target for equipment exchange

Why is it scheduled to take until September. Is new radio equipment part of the package.

I would think days or no more than a week to accomplish everything.
Any other agencies or systems doing anything as well in the area?

That makes sense, just seemed to be a long time to process. I wonder when Safe-T gets underway with theirs.
