Uh, but if they wind up being linked, then what? :sneaky: Hint...there's a reason OneVoice and SaiaNet share the 171 NetID, just never came to fruition.
If that were the case, then they probably wouldn't have overlapping TGIDs. But it's a pain when traveling.

I was looking for another CC for a Con+ Site a bit far away and stumbled on yet another T3 Signal.
Im getting a T3 signal on 454.29375 from my location in Westchester. Very Strong signal too. But now, a different system ID.

Also, so far, I have found the following random site while searching the bands:
TIII, Network 7, Site 11, 477.6250 (Site appears to be isolated)
TIII (MOT), Network 8, Site 2.6, 454.29375 (Site appears to be isolated)
TIII, Network 8, Site 2.4, 477.61875 (Site appears to be isolated)
TIII (MOT), Network 171, Site 14.8, 471.4250 (Site appears to be isolated)

Makes me wonder if these random TIII sites are Goosetowns sites in the works and the system hasn't changed the network ID yet? Is anyone else finding this? Im still fairly new with DMR and DSD, so im not sure if I just have a bad decode or what. But all signals seem strong, so im not sure what's going on.

System is live in the database. Note that the site numbers listed are the actual site numbers, I'm not sure why DSD+ is displaying the x.x format. It's also worth noting that Uniden and SDRTrunk show the Network ID as 5, not the 6 that DSD+ displays. :cautious:

I am getting some data through DSD Plus of a system that says "TIII Site L6-25.2 on 454.600 MHz. It has neighbor sites of 25.1, 25.3, 25.4, 26.4, 25.6 and 25.7. I have read some reference to this on the Goosetown Tier 3 thread, but nothing about any data received in the N MD and S PA area. Is this the same network that is being expanded over a wide area ?

Im not sure. I don't think Goosetown is expanding into that region. Maybe, Maybe not.

Is there any activity on the system?

It could be something completely different using the same System ID. Ive seen that before.

Do you have any screenshots from DSD?

I do not have any screenshots from DSD+ as yet. However, here is the data that I have so far.. there are 4 distinct frequencies where it appears that there are control channels. 454.600, Site L6-25.2, DCC4, 454.16875, Site L6-25.1, DCC3, 451.625, Site L6-25.3 DCC7 and 463.725 Site L6-25.7 DCC2. Yesterday, I heard a voice that said, "Test, Testing" on 454.600 Site L6-25.2 CC4. Other than that no traffic. It does say TIII system in DSD. In the next few days, I will attempt a screenshot. I have plugged frequencies into a DMR system on a Uniden BCD996P2 scanner and have 2 active frequencies (which it can pick up, is close enough to my QTH to register0 454.600 and 454.16875. I am in northern MD, Carroll County.

Ok. It is actually System 5h (or actually 5 HEX) as listed on an SDS200. Site ID on 454.600, 25.2 (as shown in DSD+) is listed as "193" (on the SDS200).

Site ID on 454.16875, 25.1 is listed as "192" (on the SDS200). Unable to get data on the other two frequencies. They show up on my RSP Duo and DSD+, but not strong enough for any of my scanners to Receive.

This is definitely either an extension of Goosetown or.. something totally new and unlisted. Just not sure at this time, not enough data. I do know as I said above, I have a voice that said "Test, testing" on SITE 193.

That is all I have.

Ok.. I now have some data on Site L6 (5) 25.3 (451.625) that is coming up as 194 on the SDS200. And, on Site L6 (5) 25.7 (463.725) Site is 198. Signals are very weak on these, but was able to capture them after some amplifier tweaking.

As I suspected, DSD+ is showing the wrong System ID. So the System ID is actually 5, so it could be Gosetown, or it could be something different. Although, the Gosetowns TIII system is in the very early stages of testing. But I'm leaning towards it as something new and unlisted. I don't see any of Gosetown's known FCC licenses in MD; the closest is in Philly, but they are 500Mz. It could be another local shop under a different FCC license that will be piggybacking off Gosetown's system. It's hard to tell with the little data we have. I would suggest looking more at the FCC licenses around you and see if you can find anything there.

I did search the FCC licenses for 451.625 and 463.725 but didn't get anything in Carroll County.

Yeah, ditto. I checked the ULS search and frequency search at the FCC site. Did not find anything pertaining to this, except an experimental temporary license which expires soon as is closer to Washington DC. But only 1 of the frequencies pertain to this, so... I will continue to monitor it for any traffic and check back periodically on the FCC site to see if something is updated. Thank you for the response, have a great day !

Huh. The TG that is listed on the Goosetown site here on RR, is the same that is appearing in the DSD+, 100001, using RID 4000004. Probably radio technicians doing some testing.

Well, That matches up with my DSD+ records for Goosetown. I have RIDs 4000001 and 4000005 logged from August. So, 4000004 matches up. Also, the sites are somewhat aligning as well. It's just weird that they have no FCC licenses in that area; maybe they are expanding/testing coverage after all, or it could be something temporary.

Here is some further information I have gathered from the FCC website.

It appears that these 4 frequencies (there maybe more) are associated with the OET EXPERIMENTAL LICENSING SYSTEM. Callsign WV9XWA, licensed to XCOM Labs out of Lebanon County, PA. It is set to expire on 2-1-24. I was unable to gather more info, due to maintenance going on with the FCC site. That area of PA is close enough to give me the signals I am receiving here in Manchester, MD. I am going to assume that there are several tower sites that are associated with this "experiment".

Keep in mind that radio shops like Goosetown often form partnerships with other radio shops to form wide area/regional networks. OneVoice Con+ is an example of this. So yes, the Tier III system in the RRDB is currently assigned to Goosetown, but only because they were the first active sites to be confirmed in NY on this system.

In the case of SEPA/MD, you're looking at Triangle Communications.

Site 194 (25.3 in DSD+) would be Reesers Summit in York County, PA

Site 198 (25.7 in DSD+) would be Cornwall Lookout in Lancaster County, PA

By the way, the true Network ID for this system is 5, and the site numbers are the three digit integers, not the ones with the decimal. Basically what Uniden is showing is correct; DSD+ is misrepresenting both the Network and Site ID's. I believe I explained that in the Goosetown thread, but it bears repeating here.

Yes, I understand that and that is why I went and plugged in the SDS200 from Uniden to gather the correct data as DSD+ is erroneous. Nowhere in Triangle Comm is there a frequency of 454.600 or.. 454.16875. Also, as far as I know, they are not Tier 3 DMR. 454.16875 is not listed as licensed to anyone/anywhere on the FCC database. Checked it three times at FCC.gov on ULS. But Lo and behold it is live on three scanners and an SDR Play Duo here at my QTH. Very little traffic, except for an occasional "test" on voice.
