On site 131 the only voice path is slot 2 of the control channel. Only Goosetown is active so far.

If the band plan holds then
454.600000 LCN 369
451.625000 LCN 130
463.725000 LCN 1099
454.16875 is on a 6.25 kHz step so the calculation changes
Thank You! A plain straight answer in English. Avoiding the weeds at all cost.

GTR8000, if I may.. this is from a post I found which you posted back in 2019..

Revision of my original post. This is the correct formula to use for Tier III systems to determine the RRDB/Uniden LCN from the DSD+ Ch number (This only applies to Tier III and Capacity Max systems; it does not apply to other DMR type systems such as Cap+ or Con+).
  • If DSDPlus shows an odd Ch # for a TIII system, then LCN = (DSDPlus Ch - 1) / 2 | DSDPlus Ch 319 - 1 = 318, divided by 2 = 159
  • If DSDPlus shows an even Ch # for a TIII system, then LCN = (DSDPlus Ch - 2) / 2 | DSDPlus Ch 320 - 2 = 318, divided by 2 = 159
I went ahead and plugged this formula into the data that comes up on DSD+ for the four sites that I receive traffic for. Not to confuse anyone, but there are actually 7 sites which come up in the system I am receiving. I am only able to see 4 of them however.

Here are the LCN's arrived at via this formula..

Site 193, YORK, LCN 369
Site 192, RED LION, LCN 1214
Site 194, REESERS SUMMIT, LCN 131
Site 198, LANCASTER (PENN TWP), LCN 1099

At this time I am unable corroborate this with LCN finder, as it isn't coming up with anything (no real traffic to speak of).

New Site online.. shows L6-25.6 (of course it's System 5, Site isn't 25.6, but a 19x, I assume..) 462.150 (TriangleComm) LCN 973.

Where did ya find the Site numbers (192,193,194, 198 etc.) ? Been looking for that data. Thanks.

SDR Trunk and Uniden display the correct system ID and site numbers. At least for the NY Sites, so I'm assuming its true for the others.

To "translate" from DSD+'s incorrect site numbering to the actual site numbers...

Start at 1.1, which = Site 0, then go up to 1.8 which = Site 7. Now repeat that pattern with 2.1-2.8 (Sites 8-15), 3.1-3.8 (Sites 16-23), and so on.

Would that happen to be DMR Color Code 8

GTR8000.. You mentioned back in Post #17, that some DMR systems are reaching EOL. MADRN being one of them (for years now, I think you said). Is it possible we are seeing the upgrade to Tier 3 for MADRN and that is what this all is ? Seems to fit, the sites are right.

As I stated in that post:

Mid-Atlantic is a Connect Plus system, which has been EOL (End of Life) for years now. Everyone is moving to some form of Tier 3 now, either Capacity Max (Motorola's replacement for Connect Plus), or a standard Tier 3 system like Selex. Goosetown and Triangle have settled on Selex, and this is exactly what you're seeing. The early stages of the replacements for OneVoice and Mid-Atlantic.

MSI stopped supplying Connect Plus hardware and options between 2017-2019, so it is now end-of-life. Support/repair of the Connect Plus line ends around 2025-2026 based on availability of parts, however I'm hearing that it's already troublesome getting some hardware repaired.

Here is some further information I have gathered from the FCC website.

It appears that these 4 frequencies (there maybe more) are associated with the OET EXPERIMENTAL LICENSING SYSTEM. Callsign WV9XWA, licensed to XCOM Labs out of Lebanon County, PA. It is set to expire on 2-1-24. I was unable to gather more info, due to maintenance going on with the FCC site. That area of PA is close enough to give me the signals I am receiving here in Manchester, MD. I am going to assume that there are several tower sites that are associated with this "experiment".

Clearly at least one person (and maybe more) who are "in the know" have posted exactly what is going on here, and whose frequencies are being used, and why. I don't know why anyone ( ahem blueseas ) insists on going down the rabbit hole to pull up experimental licenses and crap. Somebody needs to face the fact that others ( such as @GTR8000 ) know a helluva lot more about what is going on. One should just be happy about that fact and move on with sleuthing sites.

Here is a summation of the data in this thread so far. Neighbor lists are very helpful in determining new sites and should be logged for each site. Neighbors may change as the system build continues so occasional confirmation of the data is essential.

Ive Created the following wiki Pages for this system:

All pages below are linked on the Main Goosetown Wiki.

Unknown Talkgroups:

Radio IDs:

Sites: (Yeah, I went a little overboard on this)

Im also going to ask if this thread can be merged into the main Goosetown discussion thread so we don't have 2
