Thank you for the video, I really appreciate you putting your time into it, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

My first check was to see how it handled P25 simulcast systems. It appears to be better but not 100%. The real test will be when I leave the county which won't be until Friday when I go and work security. The audio is ot compariable to Uniden 996XT which is like an HTC. The thing that I hated about the 106 was how I could hear too much background noise and sounded like a scanner and not a radio.
I will say that those who use the 106 and jump straight to the 800 will have to relearn things. I really love the recording feature but I need the ability to delete individual recordings and not all / everything before / everything after. I can't wait to read the manual from start to finish and create a video series about the 800. I also like that I can conceal this much better than the 106!

Yeah I was thinking about the size element, and the fact that is is more compact than a 106/500 is DEFINITLY a plus.

Press the SKIP key while "looking at" the recording you want to delete.
Next video (same camera and time for recording but was errors uploading) YouTube - GRECOM PSR-800 Digital Trunking Scanner Unboxing: Video 3 - This is a sample of P25 simulcast system in a good area. Its scanning a wildcard and I will limit it later. Sounds like I will be doing a video series (maybe feature by feature?) Let me know stuff you want me to cover in my series.

Excellent demo of the audio in post 148, has very good crisp audio, i think GRE should send you a "bonus" for your representing the quality of there product....

Just got the brandy gnu 800 today. While there is much to learn, it seems pretty intuitive. I actually had it receiving the local analog trunking system within 10-15 minutes of opening the box without reading the manual. Reading the manual helped me understand a lot of the finer features of this radio.
The software REALLY helps in setting the scanner up. Much easier setting it up using the computer than the radio keypad.
I am somewhat disappointed with the P25 Simulcast reception. While it seems somewhat better than my 396T, it is no where near a commercial radio but perhaps I was over expecting.
At times the voices are very "digitized" ...other times they are fairly clearI have not had an opportunity to try the recording feature. The radio does quite well on analog trunking. It would have been nice if GRE had included an AC adapter so I guess I will have to spring for one in the next day or so.

Do you have a cell phone, MP3 player, or any other portable electronic device that came with a "USB Mini B" power supply (or a power supply that expects a USB 'A' cable)? I must have 20 such adapters lying around here, mostly wall warts but a few cigar lighter adapters, that came with various USB devices I've accumulated over the years.
I actually want to makea website based around general overviewing of scanners. Its going to behard to get scanners with out donations but could benifit everybody with seeing a feature break down and maybe comparison of scanners. I'll ponder over this for a few hours / days and you may see some website like this if this overview goes good tonight / tomorrow.
Most devices that use USB connections with charging circuits that are based on 5 volt input only include the cable these days with the exception of cell phones (where the charger is included in the price of the phone package).
Generally the area that I was in during videoing is my sweet spot and other areas in my place are etchy, but I barely noticed any messups. Now once I left my place my hopes shattered as it went silent while my 106 was going. I'm hoping its a setting but I learned the 800 is pretty dependant on a computer if you need to edit a site (I'm sure I could if I read the manual or ask here). It wasn't dead15% of the time and when it wasn't it was perfect with barely and breaks when my 106 was chopping. Verh interesting experience so far!
