I just released the update. Follow the links and instructions at http://info.uniden.com/HomePatrol

In general, you need to install a new version of Sentinel, then check for new firmware and a new database.

We will continue to support “legacy” users with database updates for another week or two, but by the end of the month, if a user hasn’t updated to the latest versions, they will stop getting new database versions (new features implemented by RadioReference makes the old/new databases incompatible).

Also for the next week or two, the new database will not be on the normal Monday Morning schedule. I issued a new dB this morning and will probably not be able to run another pull until after I get back from CES.

Enjoy!

Thanks Paul!!

Going to give it a try!

Ok. I'll be working most of today, so will be here if there are any process glitches.

Great news but based on what was posted yesterday I left my HP-1 at work figuring it would be another week or so. Guess I'll have to make a trip later today to get it.

All went smooth as silk Paul!

I installed the new Sentinel first and let it upgrade my HP-1E's firmware without a hitch.
I then went and let it update my database (I was several weeks old) and that also worked without a hitch!

Now I'm off to play with the new features!

Thanks Again!

Looks like the website is slammed. I'll keep trying.

Thanks for the heads up UPMAN.

Done! Smooth! Look at all those Nationwides!

Back to reading the features and checking them out (UPMan up all night? Thanks for the effort, Paul)

Edit: Will the "engineering examples" be updated to demo the new remote features?

Update Done - No Issue

After initial delays accessing the website, the download worked and following Paul's instructions, I upgraded Sentinal, the device firmware and the database without any issues.

I show Firmware Version 2.02 on the HP1 now. DB Version is 01/06/2012.

A whole lot of nationwide systems to play with too :) This is almost as good as being at CES.....

Quick question - Why would I need to load the serial drivers? Do we have access to an application that uses that capability yet? I read that is used for streaming Audio, remote control and raw data output.

Thanks,

Kevin

So, why are Canadian nationwide freqs, in the USA section and vice versa?

Not to mention much of which is duplicated info....

Which in turn begs the question why are multiple copies of the same thing being created and maintained?

Both the same thing, but with a proper description in Canada but not the USA ROFL (neither one with proper channel names though SIGH)
Canada > Rail > AAR Standard Channels
USA > Railroads > Railroad Operations VHF

So that those that wish to use the info can do so.
You do realize that there are folks that travel from the US->Canada or vice versa or
vacation/live close enough to the border that they can use both?

You do realize the VAST majority of people don't live under your example and those that do can look in each country's respective section to find what they need regardless.

The categories are USA>Nationwide or Canada>Nationwide. NOT continent wide or hemisphere wide or whatever.

Nontheless the option is there for those that wish to choose it. :)
And for those that whine & cry over being given more features they can ignore it.
(Not that I am naming anyone directly...just in general).

I am working on couple Wiki articles as I type this up on some of the
new features and how to access them. :)

Gonna need a lot of caffeine to get these articles done before the end of the weekend!

Happy Monitoring (and HPing) to all!
