I have tried to program all the frequencies excluding the control and the alternate frequencies in the scanner as conventional and not as a talk group. I get a loud roaring noise from all the frequencies. I can turn the squelch from about 10 to 0 to try and stop it and it don't. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Unfortunately , the WS1065 is unable to decode NXDN. The only scanners capable of NXDN are the Whistler TRX-1 or TRX-2 . Non of the Uniden scanners support NXDN .

Keep in mind that if you program multiple trunked NXDN system frequencies as conventional, and you program in a wild card, when any talkgroup becomes active and you want to hold on it, pressing the pause key will hold on the frequency, not the talkgroup. So if the conversation switches frequencies, you're out of luck. IOW, you can't hold on a TG using this method. At least this is what I'm seeing.

How do you add a tg wildcard on a conventional system I thought it was only possible with trunk system.

Yep, it shouldn't be this hard or tricky to get the radio to just decode the voice in any mode i.e. trunked, conventional, etc. Especially when it can do so in Limit Search mode just by programming a frequency range and it displays RAN, TG ID, Radio ID, NXDN 4800/9600 Type-D/Type C and even Encryption on any NXDN transmission found.

When DMR was released, I could decode at least voice in any mode without any complicated programming or knowledge.

I really need to set some time aside and get my DSD setup going...

I have this with dmr ras enabled systems. Limit search works fine but whether I store it as a trunk system or individual frequencies it misses chunks of the conversations.

You are correct. Wildcards can only be added to Trunk Systems. Conventional frequencies are stand alone objects.

With Conventional NXDN you can set the Squelch to Any which will show up in EzScan with asterisks for RAN and TG. See screen shot.

I am having trouble receiving frequency 155.535 NXDN which is the Bluefield VA police department. I can receive Bluefield VA Fire Department without any issues, which is analog so I am reasonably sure that I am not too far to receive the Bluefield VA police department. However, I can receive Wise County VA Sheriffs Office on 151.670 NXDN without any issues. All frequencies are conventional and all my settings on both my Whistler TRX1 and TRX2 are default. Any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

If I remember corrwctly without doing any searches, it has been a while since last you asked about this but in general, I suspect nothing is different now that it was in the past.

You really can't compare one system or frequency to another.... there are likely so many things that are entirely different about them.
