Thought I would post this for Verdugo as fire seasons heats up. If you have a 296/796 you can program this all in one bank, and a 396/996 you can create a trunked system and conventional system linked by the same quick key.

Red 1 ICIS
Red 2 ICIS
Red 3 ICIS
Red 4 ICIS
Red 5 ICIS
Red 6 ICIS
Red 7 ICIS

Red 11 460.5875 Local Repeated Monterey Park Conventional
Red 12 484.2750 Local Repeated Monrovia Conventional
Red 13 FDUMA 487.23750 Direct Conventional
VF Emergency Red 15 ICIS
RED 16 470.3625 VF Access Conventional (old Red 5 - still labeled that on most LACFD radios)

Now that, I did not know. I've used two different quick keys to jump between ICIS and Conventional Systems.

Just create two different systems....one trunked system for Glendale ICIS Cell, and then Conventional, with the conventional channels....and give them the same quick key.

Pro-96 Table Settings for Glendale Cell

Does anyone have a truly working table configuration for the Glendale cell? I have tried the settings discussed in previous threads, what was in the database and from Yahoo Groups Socalscan but all are obviously incorrect. I no longer live in the SoCal area but was visiting in the Porter Ranch/Northridge area this past weekend and could not get the system working on my Pro-96. I ended up listening to the Burbank and Montebello cells instead. Maybe someone running trunker can chime in.

Thanks for any help possible,
Bernard

That obviously was not the correct configuration if the scanner went to the wrong frequencies in the 472 MHz range. Nor would one need to turn off the control channel only trunking feature. Hopefully I can shed some light on the correct base, offset and step on my next visit with a PSR-500 running Trunker.

Thanks anyway,
Bernard

Reread it again...there are two base channels for the Glendale Cell (also for the Pomona Cell and likely the Beverly Hill cell in the future)

As for it not being correct on RR...it has been submitted several times.

Edit: it runs on my 296D, 796D and 396T...I have heard of problems on the RS scanners though. When I had it set to Control Channel Only, it would only lock onto one base channel, which would mess up half the LCNs...and not track a talkgroup moving from the 482 channels to the 470 channels.

The database information is correct. I believe you did not properly program your scanner if it was trunking out to the wrong frequencies.

Here are my new settings to track the Glendale Cell on ICIS with the added channels (works on the 396T and 796D)

Glendale Site 1 adds 4 new frequencies (formerly Verdugo Fire Red 1-4)

470.0875
470.1375
470.2125
470.2625
482.0875
482.1375
482.1875
482.2375
482.2875
482.3875
482.4875
482.5875
484.1875
484.2625

Alternate Custom Frequency Tables

Glendale 1

470.0125 base
12.5 step
380 offset

Glendale 2

480.5000 base
12.5 step
380 offset

and I turned off the Control Channel Only....as it was switching me to 472.1000 and other channels to listen to private industry traffic. (those National Science and Technology network systems/talkgroups)

I have tried this formula in my 396t and in my pro96 pro2096 and gre psr500. It works
in the 396t but not any of the RS scanners. It appears to have something to do with the
custom tables freqs as it will track correctly on some transmissions and not on others.
When it does not track the display will show the talk group, alpha tag and cc freq but
not the voice channel and there is no audio. It sometimes also will display a freq that has not been programmed in and will voice traffic from unrelated users ie tow trucks and the like. It will also sometimes show a programmed id and voice traffic from another user either on the system or not on the system. The only difference between the uniden and RS scanners is that on RS scanners there is no option to turn off cc only function.

And that you have to set up the tables differently. Did you properly setup the Hi and Lo values? Having a "CC Only" mode isn't going to make a difference unless only the freqs marked for control are programmed and they are not the correct control channel freqs.

Custom tables and freqs are correct between uniden & RS scanners, they are exactly
programmed the same way. The Hi and Lo values Im not sure about I copied the
values shown when I downloded the Glendale site to the scanner witch was Lo 380
and Hi 759. As for the uniden tracking correctly it only does so if cc only is off, it
does not track correct with it on. I agree that its probably a custom table issue, but
as far as I can tell everything is programmed the same way between the two radios.
The Uniden works and the GRE radios do not. Maybe I am doing something wrong but
I cant figure out what it is. Hopefully someone here has a GRE radio programmed with
the Glendale site that is working correctly and maybe share how they have set up.

In retrospect, this information is wrong. If there is only one Glendale site you cannot have two ranges which start at 380. The second range needs to start at a much higher number than 380. A real Motorola radio would never permit this to be programmed in. There's rules to this stuff.

I'd suggest reading this file. So I'm certainly backtracking now as there's a problem with this config.

Excellent, thanks Karl.

Here's what I recommend for the Glendale site:

R1: Base: 470.0125, spacing: 12.5, offset: 380
R2: Base 482.0000, spacing: 12.5, offset: 500

For the RadioShack and GRE use this to fill the rest in

R1: Lo 380, Hi 499
R2: Lo 500, Hi 759
