Based on TG numbering it should be part of Pasadena's channel pool.

Will put it into my scan list to keep listening.

No Offense, but what are you two smoking?

I don't think either of them are on anything. I too have heard this low band rumor come about and asked a little birdie in the ICIS system who indeed said this rumor was true. Only time will tell!

I see ICIS updated coverage maps on the website.
ICIS - Interagency Communications Interoperability System

Also the future SGV sites footprint is displayed as well.

Saw a couple bits of news in the ICIS board meeting notes.

- El Monte indeed will be subscribing to ICIS for 8 portable radios to be used by detectives. Some new TGs for us to listen out for.

- Artesia is evaluating ICIS and was loaned a radio.

- West Covina has expressed interest becoming the 6th city for the joint-power authority being set up for the new SGV site

- Request for information has been received from Santa Monica, Torrance and South Bay RCC looking to seriously evaluate ICIS.

Is the SGV foot print transmitting from the Pomona cell on top of Kellog hill 57fwy/10fwy ? I dont see another transmitter other than the back up on Pomona PD station. Please advise, thank you.

The future SGV sites will be located on Johnstone Peak (above Glendora) and at the BKK landfill in West Covina.

The 5 JPA cities for that are Azusa, Covina, Glendora, Irwindale and La Verne

Pomona has its own footprint.

Its interesting to see that ICIS is taking over the valley. Units could go in pursuit from pomona and travel to victorville and have coverage on their radios. Currently they usually hand off pursuits to chp ..

Yes ICIS has slowly morphed into a system with very wide coverage.

If agency like SouthBay RCC joins plus someone like Santa Monica on the Westside, then huge portions of LA County will be fully covered. A baby LA-RICS.

If this happens ?..where are the freq. going to come from ? Each city will sign over their current freq.? Is there much left in the uhf spectrum to add this many tags. I can see the sgv site having atleast 12 freq..
Your thoughts?

Yes ICIS model seems to be BYO frequencies.

For future SGV site I posted the planned frequencies in Reply 733 which are being supplied by Glendora.

Thanks Laflyer i missed it. That would be the right amount of frequencies. Transmitting from johnstone peak...would really give some distance per the color foot print. I wonder if sheriff units would get the icis mutual aid frequencies. I understand icis can use the small city access channel but that was not suppose to be used for pursuits. Im sure scc/src would have the icis radios.

I am having issues with Pomona's new system. I have my Pro-106 programmed as P25 AUTO, but seem to intermittently break out and miss traffic. The 106 should decipher the P25 settings automatically, but it seems to have a flaw. Take in mind, I do have multiple 106's with the same issue. It is a real nuisance. Does anybody else seem to have these issues, or maybe have a solution? This new Phase II has really been a hassle for me.

It seems the only time I am able to monitor PPD 100%, is when I am in Montebello, picking them up off Montebello's cell (from their old 37680 TG).

Well I use the GRE PSR 600 which is the base model not the portable and using the same software and I have the Montebello Site programmed into the radio and I live in the middle of Southern California and it works great on their old digital system. I can also hear them on their Phase I FDMA system and to correct you its not a Phase II system because you would not be-able to hear them if it was a Phase II system on a Pro 106. It might be the area that you are trying to receive from or you have issues with your radios. I had the PRO 106 before and I did not have any problems with both systems at all.

As it is a P25 simulcast system, Pomona's new system uses CQPSK (LSM) modulation, which can be difficult to monitor with a scanner. It tends to be especially problematic if you are receiving relatively strong signals from two or more transmitters. Perhaps this is the cause of your difficulties.

That has to be the problem. Is there any solution to this, or am I out of luck as long as they are on the ICIS system?

If its a BYO frequencies... Glendora,Azusa,Covina and Irwindale have vhf frequencies. So that will not work....im just saying. So where is ICIS going to pull from ?

As reply 733 states, Glendora is bringing the UHF frequencies for the site. They entered into a lease and use agreement with a private vendor who held the licences.

Glendora is also forming a JPA with the other SGV cities for their joint use.
