Technical Committee also discussed interoperability access keys and recommended
sharing a common key electronically. This would allow ICIS agencies to share talk
channels and encryption keys without allowing outside agencies to later share with the
media or outside scanners. Agencies already have radios with multiple encryption keys
so agencies could share encryptions with more than one outside agency while also
maintaining internal encryption keys.
Technical Committee will speak with their respective agencies to understand how they
would like to use and share encryption keys. They will create a Standardized Procedure
for encryptions in two months

Culver City TGs

Noted several TGs on the Culver City system we don't have IDs on in the Db.

8080 - Possibly Dail-a-ride. Talk about missed pick ups
8656 - Mechanics speaking about various vehicle repairs and needed parts. Also talk of city fuel pumps
38384 - Fire drill/training

If anyone has any further, please pass on.

Beverly Hills PD & Fire fully on ICIS now?

According to this press releases says the city has migrated.

Beverly Hills Completes Radio Communications Upgrades
http://www.beverlyhills.org/cbhfiles/storage/files/12738988831777532291/ISISRadiosystemFINAL.pdf

However I still hear them on their analog channels

Maybe the press release was a bit early, as changes often happen over the weekend?

This press release does not state that both fire and police are fully operating on the P25 ICIS Trunked system. It just says that upgrades have been completed. Beverly Hills police and fire has had ICIS in their radios for years. They use it as alternates to their normal analog conventional radio system. I believe they just upgraded to P25 Trunked.

They normal operate on analog conventional and if there is a special event, like the LA Marathon, then they also use the trunked side of the radios.

Thats true if you want to dissect the wording, however in the 2013 budget one of the Police departments work plan highlights is "complete migration to ICIS P25 radio system".

So we wait....

Im still hearing PD and FD on their conventional channels. I don't hear very much on the P25 system today.

Saw a note in ICIS board meeting minutes that Burbank's P25 upgrade was complete and they were targeting a Memorial Day cutover.
Did this occur? I guess not since no one has chimed in. Something to listen out for in the coming weeks......

Also it was noted the build out of the new Claremont site continues and is 50% complete.

Lastly, the City of Glendora has formally joined the ICIS JPA now. Glendora will bring two sites to the system, Johnstone Peak and one at the BKK landfill in West Covina. Due grant funding cutover must be prior to March 2014.
Glendora also will serve as the lead agency to bring cities of Azusa, Covina, Irwindale and La Verne into ICIS in the future.

Where did you see the note about Burbank? I read the notes and didn't see it.

I did see that Glendale (or ICIS) has 15 cloned radios on the system? I thought they could "brick" an unauthorized radio like that...or are they in official use but just programmed incorrectly?

Appears there is more than one version of the May 2, 2013 meeting minutes.

For example the copy I am looking at - Section 3A mentions:

"Burbank has completed most of the installation for the P-25 turnover, but has not the cut over; cut over is expected Memorial Day weekend."

But the copy that is on the ICIS website right now is missing that portion, along with a few other tidbits.

So much for full public disclosure I guess....

Since Glendora is on VHF at the moment, they had to come up with some UHF frequencies for ICIS.

Accordingly they have entered into a lease/use agreement with a Glendora based radio service company (owner happens to be a Glendora PD reserve) for UHF frequencies.

The lease covers 3 FCC licences - WQMJ334, WQKB675 and WQJP447.

Frequencies under these licences are:
451.175
451.350
451.425
451.600
451.7875
451.8375
451.8625
451.8875
451.900
451.9375
452.150
452.750
452.800
461.4875
463.2375

Yeah I'm not sure what Rick is thinking, proposing business licenses for use on a public safety interoperability trunked system. If nothing else at least it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

If that is the case I see West Covina joining the JPA since they border these cities. This would help them mutual aid with these small cities. WestCo currently use El Monte P,D. For air support. El monte air support has I.C.I.S. capabilities in their Helos. West Covina will have the tower already at their land fill . There repeater is on their only hill South East part of their town. I'm just speculating...

Still need better confirmations.

I noted TG 2560 on the Pasadena site used by what sounded like LACo Sheriff units. Based on callsigns appear to be from Temple and Altadena stations.

Something about hiking into the hills, and waiting for Sierra Madre search and rescue to show up. Also some comms about if any Fire helicopters were available if needed.

Later also heard ID's as Sierra 1 and Sierra 2 on the TG.

Does Sierra Madre SAR make use of ICIS now?

LASD Altadena

I've come to learn that LASD Altadena has access to 2 ICIS TGs - 2560/2561 which they use for their mountain rescue teams.
The ICIS Pasadena site provides good coverage including in many of the canyons in the area.

I'll get it in the Db over the weekend.
