I've been trying to listen to Pasadena PD's media dispatch on TG 2485 and haven't heard anything for several days. Are they still doing this ?

They barely use it. You may hear a couple transmissions a day, thats it. And all they will do is put out the address and call type but really no other details.

Yes not much on that TG these days. I also noticed that it's been quieter in last few weeks.

PPD Media talkgroup was just a stunt to try and keep the Pasadena Star News and other news agencies from suing the city over the 'lack of transparency" when they went encrypted. And yes I hear less and less of the redacted cut-off dispatches as well, the novelty of the charade has worn off.

Forgive me if this has been covered already but it seems that Montebello's CC is offline. The CC being utilized now is 482.1125.

There are four available control channels. We occasionally roll the Control channel priorities. If for no other reason, gotta make sure the other control channels actually work.

Irwindale PD dispatch (460.2500) is encrypted once again. Not sure if they are back on ICIS, but I managed to copy their encrypted conventional signal from Upland.

Pomona Heard on Smartzone System Again

I was monitoring Pomona PD on the Smartzone system(Glendale control channel to be exact) for the better part of late afternoon/evening. I could only assume this was used as a backup(?) I say that because when PPD was transmitting on the Smartzone system, only intermittent transmissions were heard from their own P25 control channel (Yes I was within range of the Pomona CC, 85-95% decode from Upland).
I just thought it was interesting to hear them again on the Smartzone system, as I thought they had migrated over to full P25.

I'm hearing ICIS was approved for a $11mil UASI grant which they can use to build out Santa Monica, South Bay systems and possibly another site for the Glendale cell.

City of Santa Monica approved $6.5mil contract with Motorola for the "Purchase of Radio Equipment for Police, Fire and Public Works in Preparation for Implementation of an Interoperable Public Safety Trunked Radio System.

City report says they plan to transition to ICIS and have system operational late 2016.

Might be interesting to monitor the Oat P25 site further to see if any additional frequencies pop up beyond the 4 I was able to determine as the Oat SmartZone site has 6 frequencies.
