Didn't have the full tools to monitor besides a 436 today, but Hauser is confirmed on 376 and no longer on F108. Site 18 with control channel remaining 470.0875. NAC 377H. Only heard radio traffic on 470.2625 but I'm sure the other 3 channels are confirmed. Loud and clear from Lancaster.

I'll submit this to the DB when I get the chance.

Has anyone been able to program the new Glendale Project 25 site into a BC296D? Is Trunk Type = Type I? What is the Fleet Map setting?

In anticipation of going on the air with the new cell in Santa Monica the city has updated with the FCC its licences to allow multisite trunked system.

KVJ951
470.125
471.0625
471.0875

WIJ878
482.0125
482.325
482.525

From what I have heard, the SM site is supposed to be a 8 frequency setup, so another pair of frequencies will be added to the mix.

To my knowledge, the new system seems to work on newer scanners, but not on older ones like ours. I have not been able to get it to work on my Pro-96, despite a lot of tinkering with settings in Win96. I'm hoping someone will post some settings that work.

The 296 and 796 were the first Uniden scanners that would work on a P-25 trunked system. I don't have a 296, but have about a dozen 796s running on the system at work. I don't remember the settings, but it took me about 30 seconds per scanner to change them from the 3600 baud system to P-25 on cutover night. Remember that unlike the older system that required multipying the talk group number by 16 from the actual talk group number in the system when programming a scanner, the actual talk group number is used on a P-25 system when programming a scanner. So that means that the talk group numbers you have programmed will need to be divided by 16.

Hi K6CCC,

If I am understanding you correctly, we would divide the TG numbers by 16 and that should do it? If there is something else needed, can you check the settings on the 796s at work and post them here? Thanks so much.

Correct, so for example in the system, Verdugo Red-1 I'd talk group 2101, but scanner users had to multiply that by 16 resulting in the 33616 most of you know of for Red-1. On a P-25 system, you don't multiply by 16. Most of the scanner reference sites such as Radio Reference have the numbers in scanner format so they are already multiplied by 16 for you. As I recall, the only other thing I did on cutover night was to put the control channels that have been in used for two years on the P-25 back into the scanners. I had removed those two channels when we split the system two years ago.

Guys,

Lets keep this thread focused and on ICIS itself.

If you want to start a thread discussing radio programming techniques or other issues kindly start a separate thread in the appropriate subform.

Thank you

ICIS ESGV site fiasco continues.

FCC out with a proposed $25,000 penalty for "willful and repeated" use, and creating "harmfull" interference with other authorized frequency users.

http://transition.fcc.gov/Daily_Releases/Daily_Business/2016/db0922/DA-16-1030A1.pdf

The whole idea of using busy business band frequencies in metro area like LA for public service use was a bit of a head scratcher.
It was pretty evident early on that the P25 system would both see and cause interference with other users.

According to the FCC document back in April they promised to transition the site to a new frequency license in the public safety pool within 45 days, but FCC noted use of business band frequencies continues.

Does anyone know if La Verne PD has another channel ? Sounds like they have a special detail channel but I dont see one other than dispatch, Tac, and detectives. Anyone know the hex of it? The closest I could see was Pomona PD special detail channel.

The SGV Comm-Net (Site 19) site finally got their frequencies changed.

471.3625
471.6375
471.8375
471.9125
471.9375
472.2000
472.6625
472.6875

(note they are putting out the incorrect CWID still - old WQKB675 license covering the business band frequencies not the City of Glendora new license WQXI507 for the above listed frequencies)

Db updated..

Thank you for mentioning that part. I just updated the call signs in the system. They should be correct now.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this, but Verdugo Fire is live on Pulsepoint as of today. All cities except for Sierra Madre and Vernon are listed.

South Pasadena will transition to full-time use of ICI effective December 12th.
Some additional TGs have been assigned. DB has been updated.
