Hi folks!

Doing my first quick survey of T-band frequencies in months and noticed the following - though it's no longer mentioned in the database, Site 2, identifying in the data stream as 'Oat Mt' is still broadcasting a control channel on 482.1625...

Going a little crazy here, and maybe someone with this specific radio can help me.

I have an old Uniden BC296D that I acquired from an uncle. It is 9600, and seems to pick up Phase 1 systems.

My goal is to program the Pasadena site however, it doesn't seem to quite be working right. I have the correct trunked system selected; all of the trunked channels programmed in, etc. I think my issue is with setting up the base/offset/step. My current settings are a base of 470.000/12.5/380.

Has anyone programmed this site into a 296D and, if so, do you mind sharing your settings?

Thank you so much!!

Try:
Base Frequency 470.0
Spacing 6.25
Offset 4095

I don't know for sure this works or can be entered. I was just working on a table for this system in another thread.
Let us know if it works.

Thanks. It won't accept spacing of 6.25 (odd, given that the radio allows that spacing for other input types), nor will be accept the 4095.

What seems to sort of be working right now, although I'm fairly positive it's missing transmissions, is the following: 470.00625/12.5/380

Thus far, I've picked up a Glendale PD transmission, and a Verdugo Red 1 transmission...

Finally got my scanner up and running, and I'm picking up the Pasadena site without any issues.

Something I noticed that may warrant a change to the DB is with regards to the South Pasadena police talkgroups.

I'm not noticing any activity on the talkgroups labeled as "Dispatch", which are 2123 (current), and 2576 (future). I am, however, hearing what sounds like typical dispatch communications on talkgroup 2577, which is currently labeled "Police Tac 1", or "SPPD 2 Tac 1".

Anyone else noticing this?

Thanks.

Paul

A few notes from latest ICIS JPA meeting.

With LA County pulling back the 15 "loaned" frequencies that today make up the Pasadena cell to incorporate them into their own LA-RICS system, Glendale and Pasadena will pool frequency pairs and create a combined 18 frequency cell utilizing the 14 existing Glendale frequencies plus 4 additional frequencies licensed to Pasadena.

Additionally prior to P25 upgrade of Culver City cell, they are working securing couple of frequencies to migrate their bus service off the system.

I understand Culver City is scheduled to transition from SmartZone to P25 on Friday Feb 10th.

Was checking today. Seems no switch as of yet. Culver Fire and PD still using Smartzone system with no signal from a P25 site. Also noticed the same radio IDs as usual...Did they not switch to South Bay on the 1st?

From what I gather the cutover was delayed due issues. Now scheduled for this Thursday 2/23

SmartZone currently on the air still as result.

Guess some microwave issues delayed Culver City transition. Might try it today. More TBA.
