You need firmware 3.0.2 according to the article for your 996t. Rebanding support started with version 3 of the firmware for the 996t. The article has links to more information including the uniden site.

I have a radio shack pro-106/pro-197 portable scanner, we were up and running fine until last week and lost all traffic. So I'd like to know if you have the information to help us, and also someone you would recommend for helping me program I have the software and programmable cable. I was just wondering if anyone in the Greenville Pitt County area was able to monitor Greenville PD,Pitt Co. Sheriff and NCSHP the last 2-3 days.I monitor with a PSR500 and turned it off Wed.night and everything was fine,turned it on the next day could not pick up anything but Greenville FD.i was told they are rebanding in this area would this cause the problem or is it my scanner

Okay.... My scanner HAS been updated to 3.02.00... All old control channels were wiped, and then I added all new rebanded control channles..... I tried setting it up as "Motorola Rebanded" and it gets hung up on some frequency that doesn't even exist.... If I use regular old Motorola Type II, it does nothing, but stay locked on the local CC...

Read your scanner with FreeScan and post it here and maybe someone can see what the issue is. Sounds like all of the usual culprits have been addressed.

Email me which exact system & site you are trying to monitor and I will
help by setting up a Freescan file for you with the rebanded info.

Holy Crap....

This time I used BC Tool on my win7 computer.... Put the custom bandplan in, and now it works.... I am NOT touching it again!!!

If you are going to be using Freescan with windows 7 or 8 then you have to load an old version of the serial to parallel drivers...The newest drivers in windows doesn't work with the Uniden cables. Check the Wiki for this info...

I am attempting to reprogram my Uniden BCDE96T. Its firmware version is 3.02.02
The Edit Band Plan menu requires me to select from 16 field (0-9 and A-E). Each field requires me to input base frequency and spacing. I see no way to input the Lo, High, Step and Offset information you provided.

It appears that all Nash, Wilson, and Edgecomb county VIPER sites have rebanded. Also C508 Site 01, Farmville. The only non-rebanded site I can pick-up from Rocky Mount is Wake County, 6038, Site 01.
