So, bottom line, it doesnt matter where we order the SDS200 from right now, we still have to wait. Correct?

I am considering ordering thru Main Trading Company, (MTC), today. I like them and have had good luck with them.
Any comments there?

I don't see the Main Trading Company currently offering the SDS200 for order/sale on their website: Scanners, Radios, Shortwave Radios - Uniden - Main Trading Company

As an FYI, in post #2 in this thread (https://forums.radioreference.com/threads/introducing-the-sds200.382091/post-3051695) I did a comparison of the various online dealers who were taking orders for the SDS200 when I did my posting back on 01-11-2019. I listed the selling prices, shipping charges, return policies, re-stocking fees and sales tax charged to the various states. You may want to consider choosing a vendor based on what factors are most important to you when making a purchase.

NOTE: As an update to my post #2, Bearcat Warehouse is offering FREE shipping for the SDS200 if you use the promo code DIGITAL during checkout. Also Universal Radio has lowered their price on the SDS200 to $699.95 (was previously $749.95).

For me, I like what I have read and have been informed about with this radio. The sticking point for me, like any new model of this complexity, is if I should jump in at the first release. I have had a lot of ham gear but this will be my first scanner.

I ordered mine from Scanner Master the day they went on Pre-0rder. So, should be in first batch. Did the same when i preordered my SDS100 from them, and they where great to deal with, and very helpful.

BTW: When i preordered my SDS200, they had free shipping aswell, no promo code needed.

Don't worry there will be enough radios to go around for everyone on the first go. Uniden is not making any units short. It's all a marketing deal to make you think either you are in the first shipment or the second rounds of shipments. They are in full mode of making radios once the testing was done and signed off.

Wow, that is good to hear. I was under the impression that the first shipment would likely not cover initial orders, but wasn't sure until I read the above.

At least we know that you are paying attention to the boards here. I am glad you got this all worked out to make sure everyone gets a radio on the first go. That would be a mile stone for your company to make us all happy

Not even remotely correct.

Interesting. I googled SDS200 and on the second page, there it was, MTC - offering the SDS200. I clicked on it, read about their $699 price, free shipping and no tax, (out of TX). I then called them, spoke to Tammy, (who said they should be receiving them late next week), ordered one and received an email confirmation.
I will admit, I just went to the website now. I did not see them on their scanner page. I had to enter "SDS200 in the search box at the top for it to come up. So they DO have them for sale, they just are not on the correct page, (for some reason).

None of the sellers that I contacted will indicate how may preorders the are holding against an unknown quantity expected to arrive. And it appears the initial shipment delivery is unknown. So you pay in advance for an unknown delivery date

Thus “preorder”
