If you can "read" C#, source code for the BCD536HP Remote Head utility (which uses virtually the same protocol as SDS200) is linked in the attachments at: BCD536HPFirmwareUpdate < UnidenMan4 < TWiki
Hello,

I can read C++ better than C#, but thanks.

I can not remember if I had a problem with RH-536. It would work serially, but would not connect via the wireless dongle. I need to try again.

As long as you guys don’t start shipping obfuscated or packed binaries then disassembling to get back to .NET code is pretty straightforward :) Thanks for the pointer to the app, I only have a 436 (SDS200 pre-ordered) so I hadn’t looked at the 536 network stuff.

Understanding it will NOT come with the non-powered GPS Puck.

That is an accessory that is not available yet...I think that is the main reason I would buy this...its included with the Beartracker 885 why not for this $700 model?

The 885's target market was/is truckers and other mobile CB users. The scanner functions are practically useless without the GPS puck, as others have mentioned. The SDS200's target market is broader, therefore the GPS puck being an optional accessory. I'd like the puck included too, but it makes sense for it to be a separate purchase item.

Be grateful that its a "one cord solution" style and not the rat's nest of wires the previous scanners had.

Hello, would anyone happen to have an idea of why Uniden didn't make this model with a detachable faceplate? I had been hoping for that because my other Ham radios in my vehicle have that and it makes installation and operation SO much easier and more flexible. I'll be buying the scanner anyway but this is just a disappointment right out of the gate.

The comments in LcdClass.cs are obfuscated - they're in Chinese! :D Interesting code, thanks for posting.

The ones that know the real answer to that likely won't answer that question.

My theory? Because Whistler did it.
You're probably exactly right. Thank you very much for your reply and best wishes to you and yours :)

Do you have the 885?
I’m betting you could put a t inline to the sds200 and use the same one

Yep, mounted just above the windshield of my 2004 Peterbilt.
As for using a inline T, I would hesitate doing that as both radios would be supplying power to the puck. Once Uniden post the pinout for the puck, one could buy a cheap one on Amazon and put an RJ11 connector on it.

Just ordered the SDS200 from Bearcat Warehouse. There goes my tax return. This scanner will be used as my base, while my SDS100 will be my hand held portable.

My mobile will continue to be my HP-2. With its touch screen it’s easy to change favorite list while driving. I mainly monitor the local fire departments in Will County Illinois, most of which are P25 Phase II on Simulcast sites.

My wish is that Paul and his team come up with a HP-3 that includes Multi-Site System Scanning logic.

My list of scanners continues to grow…
SDS200 coming soon..

Ordered - cannot wait !!

So glad to have a better system for Mobile for Simulcast systems...SDS-100 and Unication G5 screens too small for mobile...
Love the GPS antenna with NO POWER required...it was a mess with the old HP-2 Hockey Puck - 2 pwr cord solution...and simulcast sucked.

I have 14 desktop scanners I do not need a GPS for each one that is the price of another SDS200. This is like adding all options to every car and charging you for them if you want them need then or not.

Wow. Do you actually use all 14 scanners? I usually sell off my current scanner to help finance the next one.

I just sold off my beater 536HP for the SDS-200. Got a nice penny for it before they dropped in price like a hot rock. Like you said this helps finance the next newest latest and greatest. Thinking about selling off some 996P2 but those might not catch much
