I noticed a new p25 control channel in the Lee County area last week (857.9875). I'm pretty sure that's part of the new Lee County simulcast system. I monitored State Patrol, DOT, and what I'm assuming to be Lee County testing tones and audio on talkgroups 37455, and 37533. All traffic I heard was on 855.7375. I also believe that the Donnellson site has been rolled into the simulcast system as I could not find anything on the original frequencies for that site.

I was told last night that they will be switching in a couple weeks to the new system.

I've been monitoring this system for a couple of weeks and this is what I've notice so far.

857.9875 control
855.2375 traffic
855.7375 most traffic
856.4875 used very little

Sheriff Dispatch 37492 used a lot. Still a little traffic on VHF

Sheriff 2 or event 37493 Sheriff Deputies used during Tri-State Rodeo

EMS Dispatch 37516 I have not heard any traffic on VHF

Here are the new talk groups I noticed so far today.

37404 Ft. Madison PD
37533 Ft. Madison Fire (Page out only)
37415 Ft. Madison Fire (Not sure if this will be just Ft. Madison or Lee County as well like the VHF. All traffic today on this talk group has been 94'00 units which are Ft. Madison Fire I believe.

I'm still hearing Keokuk PD and Fire today on VHF.

I'll be in Donnellson this afternoon and evening for my kids football game. I'll bring my SDS 100, let it record and see if I notice anything else.

Are you still getting Keokuk PD? I'm not able to pick it up anywhere (VHF or the new system). I'm getting Lee County SO and Lee County EMS just fine on the new system.

Yesterday heard some new talk groups.

37455 (Radio service was doing a radio check with Lee Com and said this was Keokuk Fire 1) As of today I have not heard any other traffic on this talk group.

37513 (Just audio testing at this point)

37445 (Encrypted. I'm wondering if this might be Keokuk PD. I'm not picking anything up on the VHF anymore. It would seem a little odd that Keokuk would be Encrypted yet everybody else in Lee County be in the clear.

Don't know if it means anything, But I picked up TG 37522 last night here in the Quad-Cities on the Muscatine/Scott simulcast site. Five hits around 1753 to 1806. I didn't have rec turned on no audio recording just the log.

How do you log TGids? I have a sds 200. Would be nice to do that for the Lee and Wash Co systems.

A Linux program called OP25 does compile a log of activity on a certain Control Channel as such:

09/16/22 17:52:54.910680 Adjusting tuning: ppm(0), fine_tune(225) ["-q 0 -d 225"]
09/16/22 17:53:04.074829 set tgid=37522, srcaddr=5600908
09/16/22 17:53:04.074946 voice update: tg(37522), freq(773831250), slot(0), prio(3)
09/16/22 17:54:30.551896 set tgid=37522, srcaddr=5699901
09/16/22 18:18:48.259303 set tgid=37522, srcaddr=5600901

srcaddr = RID in that log.

OP25 is not for everyone since it takes quite a bit to set up, and it was resource intensive when I used it in Windows (Virtual Machine). But after converting the computer to Linux, it runs, even with low signals, very well.

ProScan
The two black windows on the main are two copies running. Top is for a 996P2, bottom for the 536HP.
BTW the left window is a second monitor where I run ADSBExchange in a browser.
I also run Unitrunker, which is now watching the new Quad-Cities SARA Simulcast system.

Noticed another encrypted talk group 37506. If I had to guess I'd say it's more than likely a tac channel for Ft. Madison PD. On another note I have also noticed Lee County Sheriff, EMS, and Ft. Madison PD starting to show up on the Beaverdale site.

New talk-groups in the last few days.

37455 Keokuk Fire
37510 County Fire (used by multiple departments)
37533 County-Wide Fire Page (have noticed several departments including Ft. Madison and Keokuk paged out on this talk-group but then nothing more.)
37445 Keokuk PD (everything is encrypted but with the amount of hits and not hearing Keokuk PD anywhere else this is the only thing that makes since.
