Hmmm I *think* I have the tap working now and have unckecked the invert option but still getting:

14:37:40 DMR Voice Frame
CACH : TACT Ch 1 First fragment of CSBK
14:37:40 DMR Embedded Frame - Error ! jitter=4
CACH : TACT AT=1 Ch 2 Last fragment of LC
14:37:40 DMR Voice Frame
CACH : TACT Ch 1 First fragment of LC
14:37:40 DMR Embedded Frame - Error ! jitter=4
14:37:40 DMR Voice Frame - Error ! jitter=4
14:37:40 DMR Embedded Frame - Error ! jitter=4
CACH : TACT AT=1 Ch 2 Last fragment of LC
14:37:39 DMR Voice Frame (Symbols=864)
CACH : TACT Ch 1 First fragment of LC
14:37:39 DMR Embedded Frame - Error ! jitter=5
14:37:39 DMR Embedded Frame - Error ! jitter=5
CACH : TACT AT=1 Ch 2 Last fragment of LC

Any ideas?

Cheers, Rick

Hi Rick

Try setting the Invert option to whichever makes the display show the most data frames. Then use the audio mixer to set the line in recording level to which ever setting gives the most error free frames.

Let me know how you go on.

Ian

Thats it OK well done. You can at least see who is using a system now.

The program currently has a couple of major problems I need to fix. The first is a large number of errors where even with a good strong signal 30% of frames have errors. The second is that the program is very slow to detect and synchronise with a DMR transmission that has just started. I'm sure I will get these eventually I just wish I had more time.

Cheers Ian. It's a great little program - top work! I'm probably not much use but if there's anything I can do to help with development (testing etc) drop me a mail!

Hello All

I have just uploaded build 18 to Github ..

https://github.com/IanWraith/DMRDecode/downloads

This one should show slightly less errors but the big news is that it should run OK even on a single core PC. One of my testers here in UK is reporting it now only takes 19% of his CPU time when it used to take 100%.

Let me know if it works OK if you had a PC it wouldn't run on before.

Regards

Ian

Hi Ian,

Unfortunately my Dell single core still shows 100% CPU with build 18.

"Some changes made to make users happy............" Man you are a riot!!! I do not know about most people here as I do not think many have DMR capable radios to use the above info, but your work on this is really appreciated. I especially like the cross platform use of Java. Thank you again, TT.

Hello All
I have just uploaded build 19 of DMR Decode to the Github website ..

https://github.com/IanWraith/DMRDecode/downloads

This new build decodes some of the data headers and a Link Control message related to data being sent to and from terminals e.g ..

16:31:30 DMR Data Frame
CACH : TACT Ch 1 Continuation fragment of LC
Slot Type : Colour Code 5 Terminator with LC
Terminator Data Link Control PDU
Destination Logical Link ID : 30 Source Logical Link ID : 16448251

Hi Matt

Hi Ian, Is there any functionality to provide information on Basic/Enhanced privacy channels?

From my understanding of DMR info on privacy settings is sent in the PI PDU. My program recognises and displays that this PDU has been transmitted but currently does nothing with it. So far I have yet to decode any system that sends this data.

Regards

Ian

Ian,
I have not had a chance to try the new version yet, but it looks fantastic. Since you are asking for suggestions on your github site........................maybe some sort of logging of group voice and radio ID's? I am thinking of something in a separate file or separate pane. If this is not feasable, then it is not a big deal. I have a dozen or so systems in my personal Mototrbo equipment that your software allowed me to acquire the info to listen to it. I would be surprised if you were not approached by someone wanting to buy your work (are you listening scanner manufacturers??). At the rate at which I am installing these systems, there is definately a void in the scanner market. Especially with the 2013 deadline for narrowbanding coming, many more of these types of systems will go active across the US. Thank you again, TT.

Thanks for the suggestion TT. This is exactly the same feature requested by one of my British testers. I will try and add it then next chance I get some time to work on the program.

Hello All
Today I managed to get an hour to work on the program and have added the user logging feature that we requested to build 23 which is now ready for download from Github ..

https://github.com/IanWraith/DMRDecode/downloads

To use the new feature start monitoring a system then start logging by clicking on "Main" then "Save to File" and select a file to save to. From that point all radio and group identities will be saved. Then when you are done again click on "Main" then "Save to File" to stop logging. Use your favourite web browser to look at the log file and at the bottom you will see something like this ..

The following 6 users were logged ..
1 GROUP
72 Data only
77 Group Calls only
86 Group Calls only
144 Group Calls only
64250 Data only

Its a handy feature for finding out busy a system is without searching through huge log files.

Thanks to TT for the suggestion.

Ian
