The Unication G4 is a pager, not as versatile as a scanner. It can scan only one system and one site at a time. It will work well on the 700 MHz simulcast sites but you will be able to monitor only one county at a time with a maximum of 64 talkgroups on a knob position. It will not receive VHF or UHF frequencies. The G5 will receive VHF or UHF depending upon the model as well as 700/800. You cannot scan a trunked system and conventional frequencies at the same time. I agree that simulcast may be a problem which is why I suggested buying from a dealer with a good return policy. It is possible that the BCD325P2 will work at your location. There is a good chance it will since you have a site right at Ludlow and you are not surrounded by towers. Simulcast distortion is very location specific. If it fails to do the job, you will need to invest in the SDS100 handheld or SDS200 base/mobile or use the computer software options suggested by scannerboy02 in previous post #20.
