L-Cat bus company in Lyon county went online on the KSICS system today. heard names i recognized waiting to be picked up!!! they're on 1526

How's come my update didn't get published? L-Cat has been on the system for quite awhile now and no one added it to the list. This is a confirmed talkgroup.

Did you submit it to the database administrator through the submit process on the KSICS page (and for that matter, what about all the postings this week about the towers in NE Kansas being rebanded, has anyone submitted those)? Just posting it on the forum doesn't get it added to the database. It would be very unreasonable to expect them to review every forum for new items. You have to submit it through the approved process. Anything I submitted has been added within a couple of days and I get an email verification that it has been completed.

I submitted the Shawnee county info on Monday and it hasn't shown up yet however I have noticed that they seem to do the majority of the database updates on the weekends. Didn't have time to get Eskridge and Flush in last night but I will get that info submitted tonight. I will also be listening to see if they get Nemaha or Marshall county switched today and submit that as well.

And just to clarify my stance, yes I saw that Reading did change (that's the only one I can see from here) but I did not submit it becuase I don't make a habit of submitting single small updates and I figured someone from NE Kansas would submit it with several other updates.

I updated my radio last night. they sure did change. how do they do the rebanding? do they have to have everyone's radios and reprogram them or do they do it OTA? if there's hundreds of radios it would be a pain to have everyone bring their radios in for reprogramming. or does the programmer make a trip to each agencies headquarters?

They contacted each agency and provided a couple of dates to bring them to a predetermined location. They programmed each one with an updated codeplug that contains the additional 15 Mhz downshifted control channels so the radio will automatically scan and find the control channel once a tower is changed.

And once the towers are all trunked and rebanded, they get to go around and reprogram every single radio AGAIN to remove the old 86x.xxxx frequencies. Job security! I think it took them about a year to go across the state the first time? At least several months. They were in Wichita for 2-3 weeks if I rermember correctly.

Looks like the State PD around Salina area has been rebanded yet again. Now I cannot get in Russell County, Lincoln County, Troop C, or etc. My scanner won't let me go down another 15 mhz though because would make it under 849 mhz!!

Can the Pro-106 find the new banded channels through the P25 Wild channel via P25 Auto or do I have to wait until someone finds the new frequencies again?
Thanks

I don't think you have a solid grasp on how trunking works. Wildcards allow the reception of any talkgroup on the system. It has nothing to do with system frequencies. Also, your radio does not need to go below 849. No control channels exist below that. Systems are only rebanded one time. It's a shift down from the top of the band to the lower portion. Do an 800 MHz public safety search and you should hear the control channels in your area. That will let you know what is available to you.

852..8750 just started picking up after I put frequencies in from a different tower. Of course now I am now picking up all the extra counties anymore. So changed control channel. Also my wildcard on the on the system like you were talking about is not picking up any other TG's today and that is what I was talking about. To me that tells me that Dickinson County tower Dillon must be being worked on or down. Long story short I think a tower might had just gone down or something.

Yes I do not know exactly what you are talking about. If I do the search as quoted above then I just wait until a channel picks up that has static or what sounds like an satelite and that is an control channel? I have picked up about 3 or 4 that way I think.
Thanks

That means you probably can hear 3 or 4 towers which is good. I wish I had time right now to IM and help you but I have to do some other things for a while. Maybe someone else can pick this up or I can catch up with you later.

The tower has been rebanded a while ago, however the CC freq for the Bennington tower in the data base is incorrect. I thought I submitted it a while ago but must not of. The correct CC frequency is 851.7375.

Depending on your set up you should be able to pick up the Dickinson Co and McPherson towers with no problem. Hope it helps.

I will add in that frequency to the vast amount I have in for here. I started to pick up Lincoln county and state pd for a bit then it stopped again. I think Dickinson county tower is down. I know there was high power trans lines that went down last night maybe those lines brought power over there I dunno.
Thanks

okay guess I lied. I already had that frequency in the list. Did not help any though still not picking up anything and nor is the stream for the area. He usually has state pd on his from the Bennington tower, but have heard anything on it all day on his neither. That is why I am pretty sure it is not just me. A little confusing I know. Only other thing I have that I can change is the expert mode. Should it be in Roam site mode?
Thanks

I don't know what to tell you as I am hearing traffic on both the Ottawa and Dickinson towers. I don't know much about the 106 so I can not help you there.

It is coming in intermittent on mine now, but the streamer's is not working yet. He said, when he gets time, he is going to float around the RR site to try and find new frequencies.
