good morning guys
Ok lets look at this from a few points,
if we are talking area, it would not be Alaska, it has alot of dead spots, mswin and lwin also Michigan has a vast coverage, but if your talking talk group (aka subscribers) then lwin is a good winner on that, mswin is picking up steam, but michigan is in my mind tops.

now the Phoenix and yuma systems and mesa are coming together, and with pima county building in the future, thats can be a force to be contend with.

i am open to who has more systems or future systems that will be huge!

Coverage area? US DOD with networked sites in US, Italy and Japan. Comms heard testing from US to Italy.

It was a great network, I used to listen in Sasebo and than Seal Beach. Interesting how you can hear a lot of the same stuff thanks to the interlinking.

I do wonder what the largest single site is. I was hoping to see something crazy like a big mountain top with 50 channel pairs when I was googling around but only found this thread. Good thread though, anyone else stumbling here know which is the largest single site and how many repeaters it has trunked?

I am not sure what the max channel count for a P25 single trunk site, but I believe a Motorola Type 2 site would support up to 28 frequencies. I imagine P25 is similar.

Depends on the setup. With integral data, 36 talk paths is the most that can be done with Astro 25 IIRC. I believe circuit based Astro 25 (which is being phased out for IP) is 28 channels and IP base is 28 talk paths (but I'm a little rusty on that spec).

That being said, City of Austin found an interesting way around that. The co-located sub-sites, Simulcast 1 and Simulcast 2 in the database but the (prime) sites are actually County Wide and E620. Some of those sub-sites are physically co-located on the same towers so they break the traditional channel limitations (talk group affiliation has to be controlled at the system level for this to work).

I think you all are forgetting the biggest P25 systems in terms or area covered, .....
The Australia Queensland system 715,309 Sq Miles
The Australia NSW system 312,528 Sq Miles.
