Thanks. When I do get one, I am going to get whatever is top of the line at the time. We are expecting to go live with it mid-2007, so the mfg's have some time to work on better scanners (not that there is anything at all wrong with what is out now).

The Lex FD Radio Gurus were toning on various freqs in the new Lexington TRS today--I couldn't stop and note the freqs so I could try to make sense of it--I think I have the 22 freqs for the new system. Rumor has it they will be at it on the 20th as well.... soon the whole system should be on-line.... speaking of on-line: has anyone monitored what sounds like a Control Channel on 155.550 fm in the vicinity of Old Frankfort and New Circle? There are so many freqs on the air in the area it is hard to say what it is...

This system has been acting "squirrelly" on my scanners of late. I think the frequencies at the very beginning of this thread are the right ones. I have also poked around on the FCC site. There are three sites using the same frequencies listed at the top of this thread. Now, we just need to figure out the LCN for the sites, but they don't seem to be using them all the time during the current phase of "whatever they are doing" (testing). My guess is that the FD will be extricating itself from the current setup (and frequencies) they have been using with the UK folks. One of the sites, however, with all NEW frequencies is located at UK, however. The others are on the Channel 27 tower on Winchester Road and on the NEW Channel 56 Tower in Northern Madison County near the I-75 bridge.

Does anyone have "the rest of the story" on any of this?

The LFD Radio Techs are driving me batty this morning.... white noise and sometimes tones on various freqs in the new and old systems.... Tom, I think I have the LCN down (if the translation between the new system and the old system is correct).....

ADDITIONAL:
Some TG's are talking on the new system, a number of them don't decode with the correct tag (given the AFS ID).... but they seem to be non-UK and UK TG's.....

Need some help.... someone sent some new information on the NEW Lexington Public Safety System..... it isn't complete but meshes with the partial information I have... to make a more complete picture of the new system... does anyone in the Lexington area have the active talk groups being used on this system? Has anyone figured out a workable LCN for this system yet? Just looking at the FCC Database there appear to be a few conflicts with other nearby licenses.... but if I can get this into some kind of order I will add it to the rr.com db so we can try to work the kinks out....

OK..... the "New" Lexington Public Safety TRS is in the data base..... still rudimentary, but it is there per FCC info, etc...... so far I have it programmed as it is listed and have received control channel 1 on the first freq listed on Site 1...... only talk groups I have heard so far are Lex FD and UK PD, it has only been in my scanner since Saturday night.....

The Control Channel notation on 1/1 has been added.... The report is that all existing talk groups are being crossed over to the New TRS... anyone out there listening to it send in the tg's as you get them to make sure... I haven't heard some of them on the new system I don't really know that I have the system programmed correctly in my radio!

All the existing talk groups have been migrated over to the new TRS.... let me know if I missed any or if there are any that you aren't hearing, we can tweak as we go!
happy scanning!

Attached PLZ find the currnet LCN for the OLD Lexington TRS and the LCN that is currently working for the New Lexington TRS.... I did this in .doc so it might be easier to change them to what is needed....

Sure.... put the current LCN for the old system in the db. There is a .doc with the current LCN for the old system and the one that is working this week for the new system in a post near this one....

Sorry, I forgot to explain what my abbreviation means:
LEX PS1-4C4 854.7125 EDACS
LEXington Public Safety
system site1-
fcc site (per ULS)4
Control Channel (for this site) 4

So far this is working for this system as it evolves into the final on-line TRS...

Ok y'all.... bear with me as this system evolves some more... the current working LCN is attached to this post. This includes a new control channel, LEX PS3-1C7 855.26250, and the addition of a "Nextelled" Freq, LEX PS3-1/6 860.93750 (based upon Nextel's co-channel interference filing regarding Georgetown's TRS-Scott County is immediately north of Lexington). If it will make life easier, I will add the current LCN to the data base so it can be downloaded... let me know if any of you want to go that route...
keep them scanners scannin'!

Would it be easier for people not real familiar with the system to put the site over to the left.
(Patterson) LEX PS1-4/1 857.26250
I did not look it up, just an example, so if not correct thats why. And I would add it to the database because those that download it with software will find it easier.

The attachment has been updated and moved to this post... I am adding the currently working order as "Current LCN" in the data base....
Josh, the talk groups are unchanged and carry to this LCN....

Bring the 396, you can put in a lot more systems, plus it will get system id's for you... not to mention close call.

Ok now I'm confused...

What group of frequencies do I need to have programmed for Lexington's NEW EDACS trunked system?

Do I need to choose frequencies from a site that will be closest to me, or do I need to put in all the frequencies that are in Site 000. There's like 23 frequencies..

Is there any advantage to programming the "System LCN" over one of the site's, such as "Winchester Road" or "Clay's Ferry"?

I really dont know where the Winchester road site is, but since I'm pretty much halfway between Irvine and Winchester during the weekends, it might be a better bet.

I used to just have the "System LCN" frequencies programmed in and got marginal recpetion with the RS 800..

Considering you guys are there on a daily basis, and I am there only for weekends, can ya'll advise?
