The techs must have booted it down the 401. I'm checking the spectrum on FMP24 and my usual suspects of 142.140, 142.515, 142.545, 142.665, 142.68 are all flat lined. No PSRN in the GTA area for me. I see 142.68 is back as a voice channel back in Toronto.

Sites 14, 16, 20, 31 and 47 have all been on the air for a long long time now and see the odd tower go off to isolation (currently site 25 Goderich is doing that now)

Medic buddy was complaining about their APX radios saying their reception is garbage now. They use their cell phone a lot when inside apartment buildings, since they can't get back to the trucks with their portables now.

Also heard an OPP officer inside a Freshco with his cruiser out front and him *****ing about his new radio. He can't talk from inside places like that and has to go outside to get communications. Maybe 700 MHz wasn't the best idea?

Looks like Whitby, Sunderland, Edgar, Washago are still online. Primrose and King City down.

LOL. I've already bet $50 that this 'system' will prove to be an unmitigated disaster and flat-out embarrassment for the Ontario Government--much like the P25 migration was in Chatham-Kent. Four years later and the CKPS and CKFD are still b*thing about how god-awful those radios are...

What are they complaining about, Audio quality?

For C-K's P25 system? Coverage. Went from EDACS ProVoice for PD. Analog for Fire to P25 Encrypted. All they really did was flashed all the old Harris M7100's (P7200's/P5400 for portables) for P25 trunking and DES-OFB. Fire uses Kenwood NX radios in analog to talk to the truck VR's. System had lots of coverage gaps from the start and they figured going "digital" from provoice would fix everything. But its worse with P25 then on EDACS.

As for EMS/OPP, from what I've been told, same deal. Coverage issues. Places they could transmit from on the Tait radios in UHF they can't now with the APX in 700 MHz.
That, with a lot of transmissions coming over all digital so the PCC/CACC can't copy a unit, or they dont get the transmission at all.
Plus, just about everyone hates the long antennas on the APX radios. Saw an OPP officer sitting in her car and the antenna was little bit past her ear. Maybe them having the radios up on their vest isn't the best of spots?

I've thrown the talkgroups I've seen off DSDPlus in the Wiki page for PSRN as unidentified. I've logged these over the past 2-3 weeks, mostly off the Whitby site. If others in the GTA would like to compare to what they've had off sites like Toronto or King City to see if there's any correlation, feel free. Maybe there's some similarities to make some links at some point.

It seems like Pontypool has dropped off the map completely. I logged it ages ago when it was active but it's no longer a neighbour to anyone and hasn't transmitted the new network in quite a bit now.

I've edited the Wiki to add Toronto and one King City description to the page. You may want to add Whitby and others can do so as well.

I'll toss in some groups from Essex Chatham Kent and Lambton I've seen

We adding seen radio id to the list also?

We certainly could do that! Do we want to do it as a separate item or pair them with talk groups they’ve been on?

Id say a google sheet or something
Or separate it by talkgroups on the wiki and have the radio id's under each one. Sorta keep track what radios have been seen on what groups.
In grey county today radio techs were doing testing on fleetnet saying ok your radio number is this, go over to the other system and lets see what your id is then. Was pissing london cacc off since they were doing all this on the regular north talkgroup.
So things like that are a good catch so we know for sure this radio belongs to these guys and that talkgroup is a good chance it belongs to the same agency also

Added a couple groups and radios.

I was curious about that if the radio IDs would match up or be different between the two. Would be too easy if they did match up I suppose.

Sadly for us all the current FleetNet radio id does not match whatsoever with PSRN radios.
Going by the talkgroups and radios we have seen, it looks like they have a range set for each agency

EMS uses 75xxxx/73xxxx it looks like. Based of the one Lambton truck radio id I got, and the 73's being the hospitals (just a guess based off the page alerts thats common from CACC to the hospital ERs)

I'd guess the 70xxxx is OPP since that's the next most common radio id's I've seen off of Windsor-Chatham-Sarnia

Talkgroup 20599 AES KEYID 0025 with radios 700561, 700585, 700690, 700707 are super chatty. Been about 10 mins almost now and these 3 have been talking non stop off the Sarnia tower. Checked Windsor Chatham Wallaceburg and no activity off those sites for this group today

Anyone else see TG 20599?
