Also TG 7640 has been on for a while. I was told this was with the flow of MSP Troopers, meaning it sticks with them wherever they fly. I haven’t heard any fly outs lately. Maybe training ? Or just flying around.
It works like any other talk group. Assuming the tg / user is allowed to affiliate with a particular site, traffic for that talk group will be transmitted on the site.

I heard also that Syscom was using 7Air2Grnd 60
and 7Air2Grnd 67 for hospital patch. Both those frequencies are in the NIFOG listing
I don't think that I've ever heard those in use outside of the Baltimore area. Getting local fire departments to learn how to use and be proficient with the 700 A-G channels (aka find them in their radios) - unlikely. There are other resources that are routinely used in their place, easy to find and seem to work adequately. TBH, the local on-scene paramedic is already in consultation with the hospitals from the ground before air transport, so it is unusual to seek further orders while enroute. Not to say it never happens, but it is not common or routine. Luckily, Maryland allows many protocols for treatment without prior approval, so the TP can initialize those without seeking orders over the radio.

I’m about to get a memory refresher here as I’ll have two MSP helicopters, MSP Recon Team members, MDE, and probably others as they pass me (literary) and head out to I-70 East & I-81 in Washington County as they are working a tractor trailer down an embankment with one heavily entrapped by both legs with the “Go Team” now leaving Baltimore to head there. Multiple other vehicles and injuries as well.

Trooper 1 - with the “Go Team”

Trooper 5 - to MSP Hagerstown O Barrack to land and to stand by as they see if the patient will be flown

It’s 2022 and it’s a damn shame that there’s issue communicating back and forth with the helicopters. Note - this is on the Washington County system and I don’t care who’s fault it is or what who doesn’t have this and that to make it work. Unbelievable

I see Trooper 1 launched from Martin, stopped at UMST, then headed west. But they just turned around north of Mt. Airy - probably got cancelled. Trooper 5 from Cumberland also just turned around at Sidling Hill, heading home. I don't know if this bodes well for our truck driver.

Here is another - on Lamb Knoll and Gambrill sites - TG 7853 - MCP BaltOps, been going for a long while now

They do have jurisdiction at state buildings throughout the state including one in Westminster. Here is a list from 2015 which they may have more/less sites that they cover since then. They may also cover a state building out that way.

---------------

I never monitor MCP but I believe DLLR Police which has a talkgroup on FiRST use the MCP Baltimore Talkgroup for their operations. I haven't seen the DLLR Talkgroup used in a few years.

ThePhotoGuy,

Thanks for the info on the MDE's radio usage.

Need to add this Talkgroup to my G4. Will take care this hopefully later in the week, as want to add some NOVA fire departments when I down that way for work.

MDE ERD OPS-4 is the talkgroup to add. It is their main operational talkgroup. OPS-1 is used very occasionally. Not truly sure who the users are on it but it doesn't seem it is the main ERD group that uses OPS-4. Never hear traffic on OPS-2 or OPS-3. OPS-4 is used throughout the state and can be heard on all sites (if a user is in the area).

This maybe a little off topic here but it’s something I’ve always wondered. What site, out of all of them do you guys think you’d get the most out of ? Meaning most agency’s active, most traffic, a TG that may only come and go on sites that’s always on this site no matter what, ect, If I had to guess I’d say Baltimore Simulcast site or maybe a Anne Arundel site ? Id like to add that site into my G5. Opinions ?

You already have it. The sites are geographical, so when the radio is within the coverage area of a particular site, it will select that site when previous site becomes unusable. The Baltimore site probably supports the most users, particularly if listening to transit is your interest.
