Anywhere in the State of MD the MTA PD has authority over each and every park N Ride lots so if something major happened at such a lot in western MD , then unless they let the local county SO handle it, a car would have to travel to that lot to investigate what happened.
Note that MTA and MDTA are two different agencies. I haven't noticed MTA talk groups in use outside of the urban jurisdictions, but if they have authority over the Park-and-Ride lots in rural areas, I would suppose that at least some of their units / talk groups are allowed on outlying sites.

It seems like the montgomery site is just standing still while the PG Site is very busy this morning. I wonder what is going on?????
Does anyone have any idea??
A radio has to affiliate with the towers in the cell for it to be active. The system just came online for users last week. Many state agencies are not active on FiRST in the area yet so there will be less traffic. Once MSP, SHA shops, and other state agencies switchover it will become more active.

I revisited the Charles site today and its neighbor / peer sites are more in line with what would be expected. Also, no apparent ISSI connection with the PG system.

Interop for special operations / special events and coordination. Montgomery will have backup talk groups if their own TRS goes down.

"The nearest site tower" is meaningless. If you mean site trunking or failsoft, that occurs within Montgomery's system. If Montgomery's system implodes, the field subscriber units switch to a backup Zone which operates entirely on the FIRST system and those subscribers are treated like any other user.

Has anyone tested FIRST performance in the underground tunnels and stations of either the Baltimore or DC Metro systems?

Not sure what is going on but Tac1 eastern shore is showing up on the PG Site and Tac10 is showing up busy on the western site on the Montgomery site. I am listing to Montgomery and hearing Tac10 with no trouble at all. Target ID is 8135 and on the Tac1 Target ID is 14316. Sounds like it might be DNR or who is car 65? as it is picking up people and giving them transportation to some place. Car 35 has 10 and Car 32 has 2 passangers

MD Tac-10 & MD Tac-11 are being used for the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend events. They use FiRST every year for transportation to the Emmittsburg & Gettysburg areas. MD Tac-10 is usually patched to the Adams County, PA system for the event.

Was on a rear trip through Caroline County this week. It seems that their schools have talkgroups on FiRST.

12007 - Ridgely Elementary
12017 - Denton Elementary
12021 - Federalsburg Elementary
12023 - Unknown School
12031 - North Caroline High School
12035 - Greensboro Elementary

Unsure if Preston Elementary, Colonel Richardson Middle, Lockerman Middle, Caroline Career & Technology Center, and Colonel Richardson High School operate on some of the talkgroups listed above or have their own talkgroup.

Hearing activity on talk groups 7359 & 7360 on the PG site, more than likely Maryland State Police.

Not sure if the Leonardtown Barrack is up on FIRST yet. Can anyone in STMC confirm?
