I'm seeing DT3 on Megahertz Downtown Dallas and TI, I still see CON on Howe. Is anyone else seeing this and does anyone know if they are changing from TRBO to Tier 3? Just noticed this recently.

Megahertz has had a Hytera Tier 3 system for quite a while now (including a site in Howe), just not been a lot of activity.

They could potentially be shifting frequencies over from the Connect Plus system, since that hardware is end of life (unless they're building another new system). I'll check Howe here in a bit to see if there's more life to the Tier 3 site, or if there's another control channel lurking.

I brought up the Connect+ system in Howe long enough to confirm that the 3 frequencies that are in RRDB are still (very) active.

I then switched over to the Hytera DMR Tier 3 system, and noted at least one additional frequency in use, and there was actually an active talkgroup. Still working on pinning things down but will report to RRDB when I get more data.

My guess is that they are beginning to issue radios for the Hytera system to new users, leaving the existing users on the Connect+ for now. If I can come up with an excuse to drive to Richardson this weekend, I'll see if I can look at what's licensed for TI and get a confirmed site number for the DMR system.

Just got back from Richardson. Parked at MicroCenter across Central Expressway from the TI Campus. The control channel for the existing Connect+ system was coming in strong on 454.350.

But to my surprise, "Site 2" on the Hytera Tier 3 system was coming in even stronger (my SDS100 was reporting -50db at times receiving 454.3875). With that in mind, I suspect with high confidence that "Site 2" is TI but would appreciate a confirmation (I'm quite a way out of range to receive it from my base station).

I'm trying to confirm some findings on the Howe site (I know for certain there are 3 frequencies active there on the Hytera system, just want to make sure the frequencies and LCN/LSN I have are right), and then I'll make one submission to RRDB to update both.

I have only logged one TG on the Tier-3 system and it sounded like Police or very professional security.

OK good to know that my scanner isn't seeing things. As of last night HOWE still shows as CON on the 536. Only TI and Downtown were displaying DT3 CC's. The system (Careflite) is still working fine without hiccups. Megahertz also has several 800 MHz frequencies licensed to Howe in DMR, P25 and Analog emission codes, I listen to that system but have had zero activity from it.

T.I as in Texas instruments ? WOW ! It's been a long time since I've been to the Richardson area, probably not since 2006 and had thought Texas instruments had shut down permanently ? I just did a Google search and realized they are still in business ! I remember the old Motorola analog system they had back in the 1990s.

Howe definitely has a DT3 control channel alongside the Connect+ control channel, monitoring it right now on 464.0. My antenna location (currently indoors, as getting an outdoor antenna is on the "to do" list but not an urgent priority, particularly the part of running coax through the attic in this heat) limits the reception, but it is there.

Update submitted to RRDB for this system, will be live as soon as one of the Database administrators can work through it (I got the Howe data validation that I was waiting for).

Got the update in. Megahertz DMR Tier 3

I can hear TI in Richardson and Howe from my location in Allen. Most of my gear is currently down due to SMR of my shack/office.
SMR: Spouse Mandated Refresh - Remove everything, tear out the carpet, paint and new flooring. I may never get back in
Hope she's not making you buy Sherwin-Williams paint ...

The Howe site has 2 talkgroups active on it, 3408174 and 3408374 (been monitoring it for about 3 weeks), and not a lot of activity on either talkgroup (zero logged usage Friday-Sunday this weekend). I'm still working on identifying the talkgroups, so they're not ready for submission to RRDB yet.

Shipman Communications in Denison has selling options on the DT3 and the Connect so it wouldn't surprise me if those two on Howe might be Shipman's Test groups.

Well that could be the case for 3408374, as traffic is very light on that talkgroup (last time I heard it was on August 2nd and only for 2 short messages, and there's only been 5 radios affiliated with it according to DSDPlus).

3408174 is a bit more active, and last night I went through a bunch of recordings from the last few weeks, and was able to determine that it is dump trucks (lucky catch when one of the people started talking about hydraulic problems and having problems raising the bed), and that they've been working a project near Riverfront and Commerce in Downtown Dallas (obviously if I'm picking them up on Howe, they have a radio affiliated with that site, but they should be just as active on TI and Downtown).

As such, 3408174 was submitted to RRDB last night, and is already showing in the database. Now that I've got the LSN's confirmed for Howe, I have a working bandplan for the whole system that can fill in a lot of the gaps for the other sites but will not submit them to RRDB until I can get some confirmations.

I'll start piecing together the LSN's and LCN's for the sites, but if anyone can send me a DSDPlus events log of the control channel at the other sites, it will help me to confirm the bandplan and identify active frequencies.

Good catch, it seems like all of Megahertz systems start out with dump trucks and slowly populate to other businesses.

For the Megahertz system watchers, I had to drive into Coppell today from Van Alstyne, and I took the laptop with me, captured 2 more frequencies on the TI Tier 3 site, and 3 unreported frequencies on the Dallas site. Updates have been submitted, so you should be seeing them soon in RRDB.

There was activity from several talk groups, but with the attempts to lock down the frequencies, I didn't get any recordings to review.

I was looking through my notes, and I have frequencies in my files for Denton that aren't in the RRDB, (likely captured a year+ ago when I still lived in Frisco) if anyone's interested I can share for validation as well - otherwise I might have to do a road trip to there, Cedar Hill and Fort Worth in the future.
