I just heard something loud go over my house. Thinking it was an A-10. Showed on adsb as an unknown aircraft.

Anybody know what's going on at McGuire today? C130 RCH321 doing a low alt flight over the jersey shore, some other sorties (TREK01, WIND42) doing low altitude stuff today too. Seems busy and a little abnormal.

Traffic on 143.600 AM and 234.800, both show from a couple of old lists as 113th FW.
Looks like the Italian AF Tanker IAM-1424 got their two F-35's to Luke AFB yesterday from Andrews and now tanker
doing rtb non-stop back to Italy. I didn't get their boom freq on way in the other day but did catch Italian F-35's A/A on 232.600

Kind of, but only one would go to A-A 70X, the other has to be on a different channel, personally I hate the whole idea of the A-A TACAN thing except for refueling.
In a simpler fighter, with only one HSI (F-16A) , you would loose your main navigation display. I guess with all of the newfangled displays (that I assume show a map of where you are), you could do A-A TACAN and still be able to stay within your ranges boundaries, but I'm old fashioned. (I guess it would make lost wing-man procedures simpler and safer).
