POLIO-72,73 McGuire KC-46's went up to AR-20W for Westbound tanker Res and now both returning.
Was wondering who they tanked up there...
POLIO-72,73 with Boston Center Cape sector but no mention of any receivers...
Mark,
It was a couple of BUFFs inbound. Caught them on A-A and ZBW on recordings.

2134z 250.250 ????20 (x2) A-A discussing altitude and updated weather at KBAD.
2139z 269.300 check in with ZBW, block 250-260
2159z 370.900 check in with ZBW, block 250-260

Did not hear the callsign as it was cut off when checking in with ZBW. Only heard "two zero".

Caught these guys on recordings too. Only ZBW though. Callsign sounded like VEX or VEXED.

0647z 346.400 working ZBW, asked ZBW if they had an outlook of any thunderstorms on their routing back to Barksdale.
0710z 307.900 check in with ZBW FL280.
0730z 256.900 two calls to ZBW, "VEXED11, 280".

No A-A caught on recordings.

Wild Weasel
John the term Wild Weasel can be applied today to any fighter type aircraft F-15,EA-18G etc that kicks the door in.
Old Vietnam term that really doesn't apply today to the Shaw F-16's. Nickname maybe but old school.
Shaw F-16's are flying CAP duty with a couple of sidewinders and maybe couple AIM types and guns..

You are correct but in the Air Force the F-16CM - Block 50/52s are the ones that conduct the SEAD mission part of the 79th FS's mission.

Yes agree F-16 Block-50 capable SEAD mission type but they are not doing SEAD missions over Camp David and Delaware coast.
Wild Weasel is a combat mission type not aircraft type. They are not carrying HARM type missiles here.

0840- 7th FTS T-38 (Talon 01) off Langley heading up the coast. Going to Pease? Heard one short xmission on ZDC Snow Hill (236.825) then nothing. Maybe he's using VHF ATC on way up?

Got 'em now 268.200 A-A and 307.000 ZBW. No destination heard yet but looks like BGR.

1339z 346.400 TALON 01 check in with ZBW.

Ref: 268.200 Is this a normal A-A for them? I had it in as a Coronet freq and MA 104th freq. First time hearing Langley birds on it up here.

I'm currently in Freeport, ME. I was listening to the TALON01 flight. After coming up on 239.3 for approach then back to 268.2 I heard 284.65 mentioned 'as something to try' it sounded like. Anybody know what 284.65 is?

During their chat the consensus seemed to be doing their low level flight prior to eating. Clam chowder then a low level might not be a good idea.
