1025- Hobey 51-53 off McGuire heading south along the coast. They are closely followed by McGuire C-17 Jedi 41. Maybe all headed out to AR 636?

1030- Blackjack 2 (MH-65 CGAS Wash) up and about. Working ADW tower (118.4) & Wash Helo (134.35)

1050- NJ ANG C-32 # 02-4452 working on AR 218 (274.45). Probably working with PA ANG KC-135 # 59-1468.

The Italian Air Force Frecce Tricolori will arrive in the skies over Ocean City on Wednesday, August 21st at approximately 5:30pm! They may be visible over the oceanfront prior to landing at Salisbury Regional Airport.

Rare thing this morning. I'm hearing harmonic of 119.85 (Potomac) coming through on 238.175.
Are you sure the transmissions you heard on 238.175 were harmonics? Because I had a strong transmission on 238.175 around 10:30 local and I have it listed as an active frequency I pick up down here. Unfortunately I'd locked my scanner that logs up on a frequency last night and only noticed it maybe 10 minutes before that, so I can't confirm any other transmissions this morning.

It was definitely a harmonic. Transmissions were very weak. Had some DC ANG guys on 238.175 later on and they were L/C.

Usually the 2nd harmonic of the VHF air band 118 - 137MHz falls between 236 - 274 MHz. I get a lot of 2nd harmonic VHF x2 in the milair band between that range when I use my preamp. 238.175/2 = 119.0875; 119.075 is used at Talbot, MD Easton/Newnam Reg airport, could it be that Ron?

Could've been. Xmissions so weak could hear them properly.

Now that the 305th AMW has received it’s full complement of KC-46’s they seem to be more active than ever!!

On 08/17/24 3 KC-46’s ( RCH031 21-46088, RCH032 20-46074 and RCH033 19-46007) start on what appears to be a trip around the globe. They left WRI and went to PHIK. The next day they departed PHIK to YAMB (RAAF Amberley) and stayed until this morning. When they departed this morning they changed their Callsigns to RAMEN21, 22 and 23. They went off ADSb but appear to be heading to FJDG Diego Garcia. It will be interresting to see their next stops!!

Also FORCE21 21-46093 flew to KSKA, FairChild AFB other day and were in the air today as KROME12. It is possible they are attending Tanker Weapons School which I believe is at Fairchild.

It is nice to see McGuire getting back to full steam now that they have all of their aircraft!!

Currently there is a Bomber Task Force running in the Pacific region, with multiple B2s flying out of RAAF Amberley. I don’t know for sure if the KC-46s are working with the bombers out there, but seems like more than a coincidence to have both types of airframes at an “austere” base like Amberley at the same time.

NATO 75th Anniversary:

277.7 F-22 Demo Team heard loud and clear on the first set, not much in the way of comms on the second time around.
Nothing for the one-ship F/A-18 demo. Could barely hear him calling KNTU Tower due to the buildings.
Three-ship T-6/T-38 x2 out of Sheppard AFB ENJJPT also got no hits.
Frecci Tricolori were super active on 259.45.Screenshot 2024-08-21 at 15.44.27.png
Not part of the show, but an F/A-18F of VFA-32 Fighting Swordsmen passed over 15 minutes after start. Carrying two ELGTRs.

The F-22 demo didn't drop as many flares as I was hoping for, only about 6-7 in total for the show.

Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training three-ship from Sheppard AFB rocking the cool paint jobs.

Lastly, the Frecci Tricolori. Quite an interesting show. I even got a few shots of them with one of the DDGs coming back to Norfolk.Screenshot 2024-08-21 at 15.43.44.png
