C6018 dropped off a patient at Sentara Norfolk General at 1915 local.

Is there any particular reason the HC-130s follow the helos on missions like these?
On scene support for the USCG helo in case they need assistance or other situations arise where the C130 can drop thing out the back.

1615- Hearing several acft in weak/broken comms on 249.45. Maybe the Italians? Yep, hearing Italian language.
Same here. F-22 on 277.7 and Frecce Tricolori on 259.45. Was wondering if they most use an additional freq given that they had two different formations in addition to the soloist. Got a few brief hits also on 259.45 around 4:10p while driving home to Richmond.
Had a little activity on 123.175, but nothing identifiable as the airshow. I understand that it gets some use from NASA at Langley. Got some strong transmissions on 123.15, and am wondering if that might be the trainer trio, or maybe what I think might've been an A-1 from the Military Aviation Museum. Will have to check my recordings.
There was apparently an Air Boss somewhere. On 123.9 I heard "contact Air Boss this frequency"--which I thought might be 266.8--which I also heard nothing on. I wonder if it could've been linked to NTU Tower. I neglected to monitor its VHF freq for most of the show. Could barely hear UHF when the demo & the VF-32 planes were cleared for takeoff.

For those interested in HF. List of freqs noted in yesterday's SKYMASTER Exercise.

All freqs USB
4848.0
5074.0
6883.0
7501.0
9883.0
10183.0
11850.0
12084.0
14356.0
14399.0
14747.0
16309.0
16516.0
17432.0
18407.0

Here's an Exercise summary posted on another list.

As per an earlier email a major exercise on the HFGCS and USN trigraph frequencies took place between 1400z (21 Aug 24) and 0000z (22 Aug 24).

The HFGCS station ID sounded like "WAR SOCK" but was probably something else, but it'll do for this.

There were two stations responding as SKYMASTER:
WARSOCK (HFGCS) - heard responding once.
SHAMRACK (believed to be an aircraft based on the power supply whine on the audio.)

1400z/1405z Start of exercise with ZONAL 12 calling SKYMASTER. From that point there was heavy activity from ZONAL 1#; MINER 1#; PULPY 0#;TEST 02; GARBY 0#; YODEL 1#; maybe others passing SKYMASTER 4-element groups to SHAMRACK and at least once to WARSOCK. The activity was heavy for about 2.5 hours.

1422z SHAMRACK standing by for traffic.
1422z WARSOCK standing by for traffic.
1500z WARSOCK standing by for traffic.
1531z WARSOCK with 34 character EAM BQPBKK.
1600z WARSOCK with BQPBKK repeat.
1608z WARSOCK with 30 character EAM BQ4E32.
1613z WARSOCK (weaker) with BQ4E32 repeat (with yet another under this broadcast.)
1615z WARSOCK (very weak) with BQ4E32.
1631z WARSOCK with 30 character X2HGS7

From 1630z the SKYMASTER activity went into an apparent quiet period; (until no later than 1936z) but, upon search it was discovered that the USN trigraph frequencies had become active with EAM activity. The trigraphs were repeating BQPBKK; BQ4332 and X2HGS7. In addition these strings might expire for some but not other trigraphs but had new X2 strings added to their queues as the afternoon progressed. Maybe I just missed them on the HFGCS, or maybe WARSOCK became "excercise destroyed" and the strings went by other circuits, but the first instances of the new strings on the USN frequencies are below:

1838z D6D; XS5HIP.
1943z F7Y; XSBLZE
2120z C8M; X2IUEV
2241z unk; X2POXO

The last 3 strings remained active in their message queue through around 2340z.

They were passing SKYMASTER traffic on 11175.0 and 8992.0; and, toward the end SHAMRACK was unheard and all the traffic was passed in the blind. The last heard activity was from PULPY 03 to SKYMASTER in the blind, T9H9 at 0000z 22 Aug 24. From that point it was quiet.

At no point during the exercise were E6Bs visible on ADSB sites. As soon as the event was apparently over at 0000z, PASSO 26 popped up at TINKER on ADSB sites at around 0010z and repositioned to PAX RIVER.

Don’t want to jump the gun, but it looks like another KC-10 is on its way to the Boneyard. 86-0038 is currently circling around SanFran Bay at 1,500ft as TOGA79, a common callsign they’ve used in the past when sending airframes to rest.

I believe there are two more left, 79-1948 and 86-0031. Below is a picture of 86-0038 from Tampa AirFest earlier this year. The crew who had the aircraft on display were great to chat with, especially the young boom operator who had some fun stories about working with F-117s. Was able to get into the cockpit and the boom station of that jet.

BACN-06 GLEX/ E-11A #22-9047 into Dover almost an hour ago from home base Robins AFB Georgia.
Guess out for a test run.. Seems to have done a few low approaches to runway 32 before landing.

Email from OC Air Show account this morning:

The Italian Air Force Frecce Tricolori will arrive in the skies over Ocean City on Wednesday, August 21st at approximately 5:30pm! They may be visible over the oceanfront prior to landing at Salisbury Regional Airport.
