1650- CG 2013 (HC-130J CGAS E. City NC) working apparent SAR mission at 1,500 ft offshore near MD/DE state line. SAR ends around 1700 and CG 2013 headed back home at FL140.

Via LiveATC--1710 CG 2013 advises Giantkiller that they have been re-tasked to go back and continue SAR off Ocean City. Asks Giantkiller to get permission for them to penetrate the TFR over Rehobeth Beach DE for their SAR mission.

Odd is that both GOLD-61,62 are headed Southeast thru New Orleans it seems..
Follow up seems GOLD tankers cut receivers loose just offshore Louisiana and did rtb back to their
home base in Kansas. That last heading had them going towards Key West so maybe were F/18C's from VMFA-112.
Maybe an exercise deployment?.. Cowboys mention upcoming exercise....

Rgr Ron nice catch.. C2013 doing a grid search at 1500 feet.

Pa ANG MC-130J #21-5973 doing low approach at KILG.
CG -213 moving North off A/C.. assume following incoming high tide Northbound?

KING-73 HC-130J #16-5873 Long Island 106 RQW moving down towards A/C area dropping down.
Seems to be Playing with Marines CH-53E out of McGuire.. Both locked up and moving at 107 knots.

Pittsburgh KC-135 (59-1468) is eastbound over Chambersburg, most likely heading offshore to work with 177th FW for their night flying?

Have 238.175 DC Vipers L/C here in southeast PA.

1955- TIS-B target on the taxiway at ACY originated from 177th FW ramp. Devils must be back to their night ops.

1930- Must be important SAR. CG 2013 is still there, CG 2016 is coming into the area, and looks like one of the King HC-130J from Long Island is headed that way as well.

1935- Hearing DC ANG guys on 285.225 & 238.175. Heard then mention 149.125 so might be heading to Warren Grove. Yep, Gunny 21 flt just popped up on 283.1

ZIPPO-71 is the Pa MC-130J doing touch and go's at KILG. One more for full stop then will
depart for home on 126.000. Tower asked him where from? and replied "Pa ANG Harrisburg"
I think first time visiting KILG.

That KING-73 seems to be refueling CH-53E from McGuire.. Never saw that before a USAF HC-130J tank a Marine Chopper.
That HC-130J pushing stall speed full flaps I assume at 110-125 knots :)

NOBLE's push aux-11 and come up A/A on 270.900

DC Fighter A/A on 285.225 says will be dropping single GB-64.

CG 2013 leaving the area - I guess CG 2016 is replacing it.

Additionally a USCG vessel CG Richard Snyder is in the area. That is a 150 foot vessel.

CGC Richard Snyder was in the area for POTUS coverage, are they diverting for SAR?
20:15 EDT - sounds like Delaware State Police Trooper 2 now headed out into the Delaware Bay north of Lewes to join the SAR search.
Looks like this is unrelated to the SAR.

Sorry Terry they don't do Bay searches.. The upper Delaware river area at times but Lower Bay and ocean is CG territory.
Just had hit on CG 345.000 then nothing further.
That KING-73 and USMC Chopper still working together in the dark now. gets trickier I imagine now.
Maybe we will see write up on them someday soon. Must be bit nerve wracking for that HC-130J flying low at 1k feet
and barely above stall speed.. One mistake and in the drink they go.

2039 RAVEN-45 MD ANG UH-60 #91-26332 coming NE thru KILG class D enroute Philly area on 126.000.
Seems everyone wants to or has to fly tonight :)

Okay understand - will try to listen to Dover radar archive and see what they were tasked to do. A few minutes later they were cancelled from the search (as monitored on 132.425).

Basically they were instructed to search from north of Lewes to Broadkill (they were awaiting clearance into the inner ring of the TFR), they were then cancelled from the search. LiveATC 0000-0030 for 8/29/2024 timestamp
KDOV2-Gnd-App-Aug-29-2024-0000Z.

My guess was a Delaware Bay beach search

That makes sense a shore check in case the boat grounded itself somewhere along there. :)
Nice boat but always extra danger out there by yourself if that was the case.. :(
