09:52 EST MAKO 11 getting departure clearance from KACY for BR101 route at 24K. I loaded all the freqs I posted yesterday in an ICOM - will see if I get any hits.

MAKO 11 flight of 4

There is a MAKO 13 as well but not sure if that is part of the flight of 4 or a separate flight
O
They got BR101 yesterday as well. Is that an MOA codename or something?
That is a military flight route

Now MAKO 11 is a flight of 3 (the lead had to return for maintenance issue) MAKO 13 is now MAKO 11

327.125 KACY departure to now 285.400 Washington Center now to 125.450 VHF was acceptable per MAKO 11

No comms noted on any of the Air Air I posted

10:35 EST MAKO 14 - Now departing KACY (single ship)

Yeah not really sure - the aircraft is still on the ground at KPHL. Of course looking better at the flight details - they did depart over 2 hours later than schedule and with the aircraft on the ground.....it could all be maintenance related....not the first time for these guys. Well Philadelphia just swore in there first black female mayor - so it could have been in coordination with that event - but who knows. Just thought it was odd for a Boeing 777 to fly from El Paso Texas to Philadelphia that late. Will monitor the aircraft and see when (if) it departs and where to from KPHL.
Flight plan filed

2 HC-130J's (16-5857 & 16-5858) 130th RQS CA ANG flew across the country non-stop and look to be heading to Bermuda.

Seems the 129th RQW/130 RQS are off on a deployment.. :)

Try this link when they are in range of Bermuda and you can see how the tranisition from HF to VHF back to HF occurs.

nothing heard on any of the frequencies I posted for them - so they are somewhere else for air / air comms
I was back to work today Terry so couldn't do any searching.. Hopefully they will stick around a while but
with Noreaster hitting the area this weekend they may bug out back to Florida if they were smart :)
Duke MOA booked again Thursday for two sessions morning and afternoon.

Yeah I searched the 137-144 band for any activity on one radio while scanning the ones I listed on one of the Icoms.

Only activity on VHF was 143.600 (which sounded like activity in the Warning Areas off the coast). Most likely the folks from Andrews - so ignored them. Will see what tomorrow brings.

OT but next Friday Jan 12th NASA/Lockheed roll out the X-59 supersonic quiet jet.
Tail number is 859 so down the road should be able to track as NASA 859.
Not blazing speed but I guess eventual pax economical supersonic speed... Its a start anyway.

2035 local AF-2 #98-0002 EB over Missouri...

I read the article - should be interesting. The designers must not have kids or grandkids. They have not heard my kids (when they were younger) or the grandkids close the car doors.
