I read the article - should be interesting. The designers must not have kids or grandkids. They have not heard my kids (when they were younger) or the grandkids close the car doors.

Probably quieter than typical US diesel pickup trucks and BMW/Audi door slams. :)

Yeah the Andrews guys were up today.. WILD-11 Angry-21 and Scary-31 some bombing/working Warren Grove NJ.

Yeah I searched the 137-144 band for any activity on one radio while scanning the ones I listed on one of the Icoms.

Only activity on VHF was 143.600 (which sounded like activity in the Warning Areas off the coast). Most likely the folks from Andrews - so ignored them. Will see what tomorrow brings.
Well just had commerical airline jet activity on 125.075 have to keep listening to see who is on it. One of the MAKO air air freqs.

Okay interesting .....
SITE: ATHENS, OH
125.075 HIGH is ADDED but will NOT be on CHARTS

Okay only 325 NM so not really too bad for an aircraft above 41K. Plus the antenna sees to the horizon in that direction.

yeah thought I heard some references to that - then realized it was not MAKO so sort of tuned them out.
Funny how the Makos and company embrace VHF radio for ATC unlike our locals out of Andrews and A/C who despise VHF radio
and always beg for UHF.. Maybe they have different radio setups than our local F-16's.
Maybe working way offshore Florida way for missions they like the VHF for the longer range.

Yes really - when MAKO 14 departed KACY he actually asked the local controller on radar for a VHF (127.700) and then when that Washington Center controller had him going northwest bound - he gave him 125.450 and the MAKO just switched like nothing unusual. Maybe they have more UHF activity down in Florida so they hid in the VHF area.

South Carolina Shaw F-16's 55th FS loved their UHF radios when in town.. Never heard them on VHF radio as they insisted on UHF all the way.
Wonder who will replace them in the next CAP as their 6 month CAP duty tour supposedly is over. They sure beat up some of their old F-16's in that tour.Quite a few rtb's due to mech problems.

I guess time will tell this weekend I believe. Was looking for the BR101 flight routing information, I came upon this document.
Check out page H41 (interesting reading) !!

In other words is says forget about the noises in State Parks in the Duke MOA areas and don't blame the A-10's.

Lots of weekend VIP TFRs released for Valley Forge and Wilmington

TFR is centered on a park, at the corner of Whitehall RD and W Township Line Rd in Norristown, about a 7 minute drive to MCCC. Good chance it will be M-1 all the way up and then back to DANG after. But what do I know.

I like the part about the claim of how a tail section of an A-10 severed a high tension line. A-10s are tough, but not tough to get through something like that unscathed. Complaints like that put every other complaint made in question.

Although in the response, they said live weapons aren't used during training and that everything is simulated doesn't really hold water either.

On the OTHER hand (running out of hands), the articles are filled with incorrect information.

ugh....

Thanks
Joel

Yeah that is why I pointed out page H-41 ---- could not believe this was a real document or more like a Saturday Night Live sketch.
A10s zig zagging through high power transmission lines just to see how many they can pull down competition.
