Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Checking to see if anyone knows if the mip 5000 console has the ability to add a channel marker tone as feature? Google has brought forth little to no information as to this extra features available to this console. Thanks in advance.

I have some work to do on a system tomorrow. By Chanel Marker I assume you want the channel to beep every x seconds? I'll check for the option in the CSDM configuration .

I'm not sure how closely the MIP5000 and the MCC5500 are related, but on the MCC5500, the channel marker is all set up from the configuration on the actual MCC5500 program rather than through the CSDM. Really the only thing you can change in the CSDM for the channel marker is the delay time before the beep is sent.

Exactly. Thank you.

There is a channel marker option. Open your console configuration screen (not CSDM).

Go to EDIT > ADMINISTRATOR MODE

Put in the password

Then go to RESOURCES > GLOBAL RESOURCES.

Under that there is a function tab. Scroll down to "MRK TONE"

Drag it to the right and put it under "OP WINDOW" or "TOOL BAR", wherever you want it displayed.

Click on the resource you want to put the marker tone on then hit the marker tone button.

By default it will beep every 10 seconds.
