My MoCo Fire 7V2 feed died this afternoon after the mini PC I'm using crashed and burned. I just got it restored and am hearing a transmitter keying up on 154.1600 but no audio. Also, I've been hearing a woodpecker sound on the frequency over the past several weeks. Since I receive it up here in Jefferson County, WV, can anyone actually in Montgomery County confirm the same? I don't think it's my gear, but wanted to be sure.

Thanks.
I hear audio on it now, but the woodpecker sound is pretty bad.

Just curious what do you mean by woodpecker? I don’t seem to hear any woodpecker like sounds on my VHF scanner.

In the past week there has been some small changes to the audio quality each day but it seems to be back to normal now.

Ah I see what you mean I listened to the feed and that is definitely not what it sounds like in MoCo. I am in upper Montgomery county and I am having clear audio.

Maybe Erlich should have held the event in Olney /s.

I’ll be in Tyco tomorrow morning, I’ll try to drop by.

I ran Unitrunker on the county system today and it seems to me that 853.86250 has been the main cc for the past 2 weeks now. Also have noticed over 20 tg's not in the RR database for the county as well. Time to program them in and then figure out what the TG's are. It seems to me some go to the FD and a few to the Special Events/Local Government but the lions share seem to go to the county PD. We never did get the MCSO TG's posted when they switched over. Remember how the Sheriff dept did have their own tg's and they were ah interesting to listen to around 2 or 3 am as well. What do you all think ???

Sounds good to me. I was looking at the system in the DB yesterday thinking it was a bit short on TG's compared to the old P16 system. Submit whatever you find. Looking forward to it. Don't forget the conventional channels as well on 800 and VHF-high.

I am going to take this one day at a time. Going to program my KNG2 P800 with the unkown TG's and hook it up to an outside antenna then scan away. I might do the vhf part on my Harris XG100 P since I have 2 Harris XG100P all band radios that are loaded and i can use one of them to monitor D3 and D4 since I live in Aspen Hill area of silver spring 100yrds from MCFD #25. I can even tell when they are backing up by the beep beep beep ... on their units and will submit what i can figure out from the UNK TG's FYI Atlong I can pick up Jefferson County when I aim my Yagi antenna your way. I used my Airspy and Unitrunker on it to get the P25 info for SIREN and Jefferson county..

Sounds like Ride-On busses are being migrated to the P25 Phase II system. Some activity on 7695 today about learning new radio and computer systems.

As I was running my Unitrunker on the Montgomery system this morning, I noticed that Montgomery has added 136.000/0/12.5 FDMA on their Astro Band Plan in slot 1

I'm a bit late to the game here. But do the individual police districts no longer have a dedicated Tac channel? The only Tac channel I have heard mentioned is A15, and the entire county PD can't be using a single tac like that. There is nothing in the .db and search of this thread yielded no results for me.

Running Unitrunker on Montgomery County right now and all the source and target radio ID are totally different then what they were before. I can still use my M7300 and my xg100p to NAS. I wonder what is going on???
