Does the gang know if the SDS radios can track a Motorola Tier 3 system ?
Don’t know if it’s capacity max..
It acts like a capacity plus system with a control channel keying up every second.
DSD plus shows the channels as 1197-1198-2935-2936-3065-3066-2641-2642 I have all the 4 frequencies and the talk groups.
Tried putting in LCNs but must be doing it possibly wrong?
Thanks for any help with programming this or correct way for LCNs..

Try running the LCN Finder and see what it finds.. :geek: Those are indeed compatible modes according to Uniden. YMMV.

Motorola's flavor of Tier 3 is indeed Capacity Max. Some have reported having issues with Uniden scanners properly tracking them. Try dividing the DSD+ channels numbers in half for the LCN's. You may also have to add or subtract 1 from each. So for example 1198/2 = 599, so try 598-600 for that channel's LCN. LCN Finder may or may not work, but it's certainly worth a shot also.

I've had more luck with DSDPlus than my SDS100 in figuring out LCNs. For Hytera TIII systems, the divide by two, subtract one works well. There's one fairly large TIII system near me, but the facility has been pretty limited in operations since Covid, so I haven't had a chance to further figure it out.

Thanks
I hooked up the outdoor discone and it indeed is showing DMR T3
I probably am not putting in proper LCNs.,
DSDPLUS show’s Ch 1197 / 1198! 2935/2936
I think you divide the higher numbers by 2 and that’s the LCN you put in scanner?
Thanks again

I'm here a lot
To follow up on GTR8000's and garys's post try 598 1467 1532 1320 for your Uniden LCN's. If it is a busy system, you will hear chatter right away.
You can verify with the LCN finder but that usually takes a bit of time.

Still nothing on sds..
I have correct 4 frequencies and the channel numbers from DSD plus. System is only 2 miles away and getting great signal and decode on DSD.
On SDS it flashes tier 3 as this system has a control channel just like a capacity plus as it keys up on and off every second.. No continuous data as a always transmitting control channel.
Has RAS but thought SDS will still receive voice

That doesn't seem right. Why shouldn't a TierIII system have a continous transmitting control channel? A DMR radio would hunt for another site if it looses the datasignal. But a Uniden scanner doesn't care what trunked DMR system it is, they are programmed the same and should work if the LCN are correct. But as stated, one of the last things Paul Opitz did was to try and make Capmax to work properly in the scanner.

I thought that TIII used a steady control channel like CON+. The one system that I can monitor does, but maybe it can use either format.

DMR Tier 3 (including MOTOTRBO Capacity Max), as well as MOTOTRBO Connect Plus, all use a full time control channel. If there is no full time control channel, then the system is not T3, CapMax, or Con+.

Can you do a screen shot of the CC Channel Activity Window?

This is the system info
The control channel keys up every second and when the talk group or a radio affiliates it keys up for a second and displays this info.
Control channel exactly like a regular cap plus but not same!
Does not ever stay transmitting even when channel activity on other 3 repeaters

T3 control channels stay keyed up, they do not drop between activity. I think if you listen to the frequency in analog mode, you'll quickly realize that the carrier is constant.

Well if I can sent someone the video I have it will show the constant key up like a cap plus.
I am using a icom 7100 tuning DSD plus latest fastlane and am listening to analog 461.4875 with the constant key ups. This displays the talk group and the Channel number which I matched up to the voice frequencies. I hear them when I manually tune them using the icom.
