~What do you monitor on a daily basis?
Ham traffic
short wave broadcasts (I like hunting for numbers stations)
local analog emergency/public safety traffic
railroad (recently turned on to this by one of my friends that is a new police officer)
satellite
anything else of interest

In my Shack I have a 895 Xlt that I used to steam to my Site That is on Scanameica.us
and also Rockingham County LIve.

I also use mintor 3 for uhf
I com R-2

I use plectron R720 that does work It wakes me up in the middle of the night since i am
also a fireman
I got a pro 197 that is still in the box since Rockingham County hasnt switch over to 800 mhz yet
but it will replace the 895 with.

Here we work SHP Low-Band Channels 1/2-7/8-13/14 & 19) also 800mhz VIPER in Rockingham (D3) Caswell & Person (D4) Alamance & Orange (D5) { D4 & D5 share D5 viper to enable multicast with LowBand Ch 1/2) and 800mhz with Guilford Co system for the Cars working Guilford Co.

I generally just have them on the in the background and enjoy tinkering with the BC 396 as well as trying to find active low band NC freq's down in the 30's, they are tough to find active.

Listen to all 800 Mhz sites in range (VIPER affiliated, Forsyth County, others)
Surry and Stokes LE and Fire-EMS-Rescue
NC HP on low-band and 800
NOAA weather - all in range (SAME locked on Sauratown Mtn 162.400)
Listen (and talk some) on various 2m, 6m and 440 ham machines (trustee for the 444.100 77 hz at Fancy Gap, FA)
