which leads me to another question.. for all the troops that have switched over, are the cruisers keeping their low band antennas??

So far Troop B still has the low band whips, but Troop B uses the Statewide system about 50% of the time and I do believe NSP will still be using low band as needed for a while.

Perhaps somebody in the panhandle can better answer this question. NSP has been on the Statewide System in the panhandle for a good 2 years now, maybe they lost the low band whips? Or not.

how do they now communicate with police and sheriff departments??

Here is a small tidbit of information on how mutual aid (talking to other Police and Sheriff Depts.) is evolving with the Statewide Radio System:

Paraclete: A group in Central Nebraska piloted the Paraclete system© in 2007 to connect radio
frequencies together so there would be no disruptions when an event moved county to county. It was received so well
that homeland security grant program funds were used to hire Interop Solutions to install their Parclete system
statewide as a way to further mutual aid communications. This system uses the internet to patch radio frequencies
together so users can talk to each other. This year NEMA has been training dispatchers across the state on the uses and
capabilities of the Paraclete system. NEMA has plans to train Emergency Managers and other local communications
personnel in the future. NEMA has added three more persons to the training cadre and two more to the planning cadre,
so six teams are now conducting training across the state. There is currently an internet connection fee associated with
Paraclete use that is borne by local entities which could be eased when the NRIN data ring is complete.

In the not too distant future, most if not all City/County Law Enforcement/Fire/EMS within the State of Nebraska and selected out of state agencies near Nebraska borders will be tied into N-WIN in some way, shape, or form using Paraclete software. I don't have much information on Paraclete, again, can somebody chime in?

Thanks for the information irvington. Too bad there can't be a country wide interop network. That would be interesting.

i am aware of mutual aid talkgroup #40 on ORION. is there another/different one they use?? i know they still use the low band quite frequently...

That talk group hasn't been used in years. NSP use tg 702 on Douglas P25 system. They only have that tg in their portables. They still use low band a lot.

All sites should be online by the end of the month. The system should be 100% opertional by the end of March. Of course minus the coverage tabs this system has.
Per January NWIN meeting minutes.

Elgin Site 163 (T 013F) Alive!!

Elgin, Site 163 is now up.

Showing as 155.5050 as the control channel per Pro96com and as Humphrey's neighbor. I am in Columbus on training and too far away from the tower to get detailed tower information. More to follow when I return to Norfolk in a few days!

Did Lincoln's CC change

Sent from my HTC EVO 3D using Tapatalk

Nope, still showing 155.5800 as the Control Channel per data off the Osceola tower. There has been some periodic tower outages happening through the day, at least at the Humphrey and Osceola sites, unknown if it has something to do with firmware upgrades, gremlins in the control point office in Lincoln, etc....

Seeing 173.825 as control channel, I have 169.775, 172.575, and 172.750 as the other assigned freqs. Cant confirm any other than CC. Today is the first day I have seen any activity..

DAMN! You beat me to the punch, SDOG!

I was out and about at lunchtime and heard nothing, yet as I left work, I could hear 0176 loud and clear!

It's definitely Plattsmouth as I can hear it on my 396XT with NO antenna on HW75 just north of Tincher's!

Joe - As of right now, Pro96Com indicates that the only neighbor is 155.580, which is Lincoln. Pro96Com also indicates that 172.750 is the Alternate CC.

Good find, SDOG! Now we can start enjoying the N-WIN system like everyone else has been!

Hey, Rich!

Your Elgin site showing up must've been just the good luck charm we, here in Cass County, have been waiting for!

As Craig pointed out, 0176 is alive and well on 173.8250.

Affiliations on Plattsmouth Site

Good day, everyone!

This morning, I'm starting to see some affiliations on the Plattsmouth site, though the site is still just showing as "Connected" - not "Connected, Current".

RIDs are in the 36xxx range and I'm seeing at least two unidentified TGIDs of 3539 and 3534. 3540 has also appeared.

Plattsmouth is home to an NPPD office and substation, with service trucks based at the substation, so I'd assume all of this is NPPD at the moment.

Anyone have any leads on 3534 and 3539?
