N-WIN site 160

I haven't picked up the control channel 155.460 all day until now at 12am. I don't know if SID:0144h-0160 displaying on my 996xt is coming from another system far away since skip reception is coming in pretty good. I'm able to pick up N-WIN buffalo county (kearney ne) from here in bellevue. I still haven't heard any traffic on N-WIN site 160 though

That could be the Naper site in Boyd county. It uses 155.460. The site has not been ID'ed or a control channels ID'ed. That maybe why you are only hearing it when there is skip.

Anyone closer to the site able to confirm?

I did hear it up here in Norfolk 2 nights ago. NAC 14A CC is 155.4600. I was unable to plug my scanner into the computer to dissect tower info on Pro96Com, since I could only receive the control channel it in certain spots of the apartment. (I need to move to the top floor!!!!)

I can safely say 155.4600 is the cc.

Maybe our friends around southern South Dakota can help us get additional info on this tower.

And I know it is a long shot, but just throwing it out there. The South Dakota TRS has Porcupine Ridge site in southern SD listed on that freq.

049 31 Porcupine Ridge 155.46000a 155.62500c 156.12000 158.55000

I'm waiting for confirmation before updating the DB, but I have some good information that Site 160 control channel 155.460 is the Naper site in Boyd County. Right now I am about 90% sure.

I'm guessing you were experiencing some ducting when you were receiving this control channel from Bellevue. There have been some really good nights for VHF ducting over the last few months.

I will update the DB when I have confirmation on site 160.

If anyone can run Pro96Com or Unitrunker against sites 152-Norden, 161-Niobrara or 162-O'Neill, then you should see 160 as a neighbor site. Once this is confirmed, then we can safely assume that 160 is Naper.

I will see if I can get confirmation of the Naper tower. I am running Pro96com right now, however it is not showing it as a neighbor to Norfolk.

I am too far away from sites 161-162, however, taking a peek at Hepburn's ducting charts, it looks like some decent openings from the northwest of my location, starting Saturday night into Sunday night.

Stay tuned!!!

Mystery site and Elgin, where are you????

No joy folks, I did hear some data coming from 155.4600, but was too weak to get a decent decode rate.

Have been scanning Fed freqs here in SSC, but still no signs of life on Jones Creek tower.

Elgin site is still not up either.

Greetings one and all!

I, too, have been scouring the 162.575 - 174.0000 range twice daily and have yet to find any active CCs.

Nebraska City, Omaha, and Cass County are awaiting frequency assignments in that range.

I was going to make a trip to the Hastings area awhile back, to see if 165 or 167 lives there, but haven't been able to get away for a short trip yet.

Hi George,
I forwarded an Excel attachment to your home email that a Motorola gov't sales rep sent to
me containing a list of US Gov't interoperability freqs. that can be assigned to local entities.
There are 5 simplex and 5 repeater pairs in both analog and digital format. These are not
the VTAC, VFIRE, VMED, VLAW or legacy frequencies that are commonly posted on forums.
Check it out and let me know what you think.

Looks like they are chaging two the frequencies on Milford tower.

Modification shows 154.8975 an 155.070 instead of 154.160 and 154.860.

The other two are the same.

I don't have any information but I can say that any insiders will be keeping this to themselves until it becomes public knowledge somewhere where its hard to miss.

hmmm, disappointing. (although understandable)

so whats going on with HQ troop? are they using this new system yet? i thought i read they were, but i still hear traffic on the mead tower from time to time thats not troop A. I commute from fremont to 27th & Q and back every evening for school, and during my commute i use my low band antenna (cut/designed specifically for 42mhz range), and every now and then, ill hear HQ troop dispatch traffic...

which leads me to another question.. for all the troops that have switched over, are the cruisers keeping their low band antennas?? if not, how do they now communicate with police and sheriff departments?? before they used 39.9 which, i would assume, requires that antenna...

I think the NSP have a talkgroup on the Douglas County System for now. They still have to finish sites on the eastern Nebraska.
