Milford Site CC online

Good evening, everyone!

While in the Lincoln vicinity today, I was able to pick-up the Milford site's Control Channel on 156.2100, which is broadcasting as Site 0144-0169 (NAC 149) according to my 396XT!

I didn't have computer equipment with me, so couldn't read any additional CC information such as neighbors or the alternate CC at the site!

It was interesting to note that I could copy the CC reliably on the hilltops of HW77 north of Mead, NE all the way to the Valley turn-off.

Anyone else heard the Seward or Lincoln sites on the air lately?

I've submitted the above information to the DB admins.

George,
I have been decoding the control channel from Gretna. Did get the alt control channel, 155.565. One big problem I have here in Gretna the frequency is very close to Washington county fire paging channel. I loose the control channel every time they key up.
It looks like it is being used. Pro96com shows a transmission on freq 154.860 t/g 3111 Troop D-North Platte Disp at 1213.
Radios are affiliating to the site.

Howdy, Nate!

Ya' beat me to finding the Alternate CC! Last night, after doing some work in Neb City, I took my Dell Netbook and 396XT, and headed for the Bennett interchange on HW2. From there, I could decode the signal on Pro96Com quite well and logged TGIDs 3106 and 3111.

At first, I thought it was strange to see no neighbors on this site, but that's probably correct considering the two nearest neighbor sites aren't yet licensed or on the air!

I, too, noticed the Wash Co interference while I was in Fremont.

George,
I logged tg 3092, 3102, 3103, 3121, 3564. Also some troop E talkgroups. I notice a couple of radio affiliated to the site with Troop E and D talkgroups.

Hey, Rich! Do you get close enough to O'Neill to copy any of the CC info?

73s

Hey George, No, I don't get near O'Neill. I am up high enough that I might hear something from there, but O'Neill is about 65 miles west of me. So far I haven't received anything out that way. I have tried the Wolbach tower, no luck, either.

I will let you know if I start receiving O'Neill. Already have the frequencies for the Norfolk tower in the scanner, but the license is still pending.

.......Next thing is for me to figure out how to properly configure the band plan for my BC296D, can't do it without something to work with.

Norfolk site alive!

Firing up the scanner tonight, NSP Norfolk tower is alive.

155.5875 is the control channel, no ID activity, My scanner doesn't tell me the site number, etc.

Oddly, though, I looked at the license, it is marked returned on 10/16/2010, no call sign.

Admin, please add Norfolk to the database.

TG 3120 NSP Norfolk and 3117, Fire Marshall with a test transmission/radio check using call sign KAB 310 @ 1200.

Sites must be linked. Fire Marshall showed up again around 1220, said he was in Trenton, Ne., and another FM around York. A radio tech was looking for somebody around Troop "C" area to do a test, but nobody was near.

I have been getting a very weak signal on 155.5875, is the control channel for Norfolk NSP, but no data information. It is on and off again. Looks like the Northeast is getting on line soon?

More on Site #155

Lincoln site is on the air site#155 control channel 155.580
3564-Norfolk Operator testing

Good evening, everyone!

While looking at Site 155 with Pro96Com at the Hilltop gas station near Weeping Water, I found the following bits of info interesting!

1) The callsign for the site is displayed as "CHANGEME" - definitely a sign of a newly-fired-up site.
2) The site lists two (2) neighbors: 1) 169, which is Milford, and 2) 168 on 155.655. Research indicates that this is the future Jefferson County (Beatrice) site. I wonder how the Iowa State Patrol will like having a P25 control channel on the same frequency as their statewide system! BTW- Jefferson County Site (Beatrice) has been submitted to the DB Admin.
3) Lots of references in the Packet Dump data to TDMA, such as the following:
TDMA Sync Broadcast - 2010/10/21 03:22 (%l) -10
4) Apparently, no subscriber radios are using the site at the time of my monitoring:
Data Channel Update - Status: Available Channels: None
5) Finally, the CWID I referred to above
CWID Grant Update - Channel: 5-2085(154.21250) Call Sign: CHANGEME

As W0JJK mentioned earlier, the East part of the state is where the fun really begins in trying to find usable VHF channels.

There are a lot of sites popping up. I have made a lot of updates to the DB. There are a lot of sites online without FCC licenses approved.

Thanks for the great submissions. Keep it coming.

Cheers,

Joe
