Firing up the scanner tonight, NSP Norfolk tower is alive.

155.5875 is the control channel, no ID activity, My scanner doesn't tell me the site number, etc.

Oddly, though, I looked at the license, it is marked returned on 10/16/2010, no call sign.

Admin, please add Norfolk to the database.

Been getting Norfolk site on and off, very weak signal here in South Sioux City. All I get on control channel of 155.5875 is MOT:40176.

Still looking in FCC data for more NE Nebraska sites, but nothing yet.

Read the minutes for the august nwin meeting. In the minutes it says they won't start the rest of Eastern neb and Omaha metro area until mid November. Testing for that area will start early 2011. Naturally it is subject to change.
As mentioned before they are going to have fun trying to find frequencies.

I hate to feel like a moron asking this, can someone explain this band plan? Basically, all that I need is which category of numbers that need programmed as the base/space/offset for the Norfolk tower.

I want to double check my settings and compare to what is programmed into the BC296D. So far I have been receiving transmissions, and TGID's. Heard nothing today. CC is still active.

........I am looking into a PSR500 or BCD396XT when the budget is fat enough!

Agreed.
I can think of a dozen or more VHF frequencies that are no longer used in the Omaha Metro. It just depends on where they were reassigned after the Sarpy and Douglas 800 migrations.

While the system continues to move towards the Omaha Metro, I'm curious to know what they system performance is like in area where it is being used. I heard from a friend who knows a trooper who works the Scottsbluff area. He is disappointed in the transition so far as it pertains to effective coverage.

Well I have been shooting from the hip on how to get the base/offset/space determined in my scanner, so far it is paying off, after a few nights of frayed nerves!!!! Still working on it, however,...Seems that 154.9050 is the only frequency popping up with some partial and complete transmisisons.

I think it is safe to say TGID 3010-is NSP Norfolk, Troop B dispatch. Information about a missing juvenile, and a records check with a vehicle stopped south of town near Hwy 81 and 837th Rd. The trooper was ending his final tranmission with the KA 6007 call sign.

TGID 3117 very active today, also, with Fire Marshall calling the IOC?

I don't believe troop B is using N-WIN. Troop C started using N-WIN earlier this week.

Each troop will have a dispatch channel for each of their seargent areas and two troop wide talk groups. NSP will have two statewide talk groups.

I guess Troop B is using the system.
Heard 633 calling Norfolk on tg 3106. Anyone else hearing this tg being used in other troops besides B and E? This could be one of the statewide talkgroups.
Now hearing radio checks by an inspection bay office.

I heard it also. 3106 was rather active most of the day, some dead keying and random conversation. Heard 3117, a radio check with a 8xxx unit at the Colorado/Nebraska border in the southwest part of the state.

Starting to think that 3106 is a statewide channel.
Heard that on 3117. Hear more info about the system on that channel then any other one. They were even talking about the VACLL and VTAC channels.
Looked at streets and trips.. hwy 81/837 only cross in Madison county. So 3010 is probably the dispatch channel for that area not the dispatch channel for the whole troop or it could also be the troopwide channel.
Any one have a map with the sgt areas for each troop or know the names of the sgt areas?

Admin, TG 3010, can be confirmed as NSP Norfolk, Troop B Dispatch.

2158, 725 calling Norfolk, 10-7 for lunch at Wendy's. KA 6007 used at end of transmission.

22:35 Trooper calling Norfolk, mentioned "will be enroute to a reported Iron theft in Brown County" Ended with the KA 6007 call.

NSP Norfolk responded back with KAB 310 and time, both transmissions.

Activity over 42.48 has been very minimal at best today.
